Not an area that I visit very often but Roseberry Topping is well worth a walk if you are in the area, especially in spring when the bluebells are in bloom.
When I was around 9, I moved to England from America and settled into a small house near Middlesbrough more easily than I thought was possible. For the two years I stayed, my father and I went on adventures beyond anything I have seen to this day, one of them being Roseberry Topping. I still remember walking the same path, and standing in the same shooting box. I cannot express how much this video meant to me. Thank you for letting me relive my childhood.
Benn climbing Roseberry Topping since I was a kid and still do to this day, always a great view and normally a busy summit too. We went for the bluebells and wild garlic second week in May last year and will be back again for more of the same this year too, as when they are both fully out it is one hell of a show there, cheers Alan
Thanks for watching and commenting Alan. Actually must confess that this was the first visit for me but we plan to return. We were there just a little bit early for the spring flowers.
Hi Steven. Thanks for watching and for taking time to comment. Yes, I have about 9 walking films in my archive which are ready for editing. Just really busy at the minute on the run up to show season but hope to get more online soon. Watch this space.
Thanks for the comment Colin. I have to admit that I have only scratched the surface of places to walk over in that area but Roseberry Topping is a good place to start. The bluebells and spring flowers that bloom in the coming weeks will make a visit worth while.
Lovely video Andy. Did this walk twice in one week last year about the same time as i remember the bluebells coming out, taking different routes to the top. You were lucky to find it so quiet.
Thank you Jim, both for watching and for taking time to comment. Yes, we were surprised that it was so quiet when we reached the top. Perhaps due to it being late afternoon md-week?
Oh my stars I'm so glad you're back in the wilds again! I've been missing these and rewatching your old ones. They're the perfect way to make me feel at peace! Thanks Andy for this one, as usual it's so very beautiful. My bucket list dream is to visit the UK and do some of your hikes... and all that blooming gorse is absolutely stunning!!!
