Absolutely. Those two minutes are really unsettling. The combination of the initial piano chords over the Paramount logo, and then the New York establishing shot ending over that gothic fortress that the Dakota Apartments are, all underscored by one of the best themes ever. That lullaby is at the same time spooky and strangely tender. It's so engraved in my subconscious that I sometimes have dreams where I wander through some emty corridors, and I know it's the Dakota. The whole movie is a total masterpiece , of course. I must have seen it 50 times, and its psychological effect is so well established that I find myself needing to look away from the screen sometimes...just in case, if you know what I mean. Polansky is a genius, and he was a genius in 1967.

“Are you a doctor?” “Yes.” “He’s an actor.” Not only shows from the very beginning that Guy is a liar but metaphorically illustrates that he’s going to pretend he’s taking care of rosemary during her pregnancy telling her what she needs to do, what to take, and who to see, when really it’s all an act.

Yes, in Lower Manhattan, not that close to Central Park. The Dakota is on The Upper West Side, miles away. Not much of a coincidence, unless... Are you saying the whole Island is cursed? Stranger still, try to figure out why River Phoenix doesn't have a star on the Walk of Fame yet James Dean does. Not many theories out there if you can come up with one yourself but I have one if you're interested. I expect Ledger will get one by 2018 but Phoenix never will.
