I love Ross and he’s a gifted journalist, no doubt, but his cameraman should get their name in the headline as well. They’re taking the exact same risk if not more having to keep their camera in the line of sight. Sure, they arent the writer or the “voice” of the show but they’re certainly taking as much risk. Bravo to both.

No because the risk of him killing an innocent out of pure panic will be a huge red X on the British army,, and the fact he's a reported and not part of the army,, but I do think he should be able to have a handgun as self defence and only be allowed to use incase there is any close combat

@@a1to255 To misquote Sergeant Major Plumley, if things are so bad that Ross needs a weapon there will be plenty lying on the ground. He is there as a reporter, not a combatant. Reporters carrying weapons threatens their perceived impartiality and is against most media company's rules.

A journalist carrying a weapon 1. Is likely against the Geneva Convention and 2. Would immediately make him a combatant which means he’s fair game for both Taliban and other coalition forces who may be unsure of who he is and why he is armed and not in proper uniform, all this while Ross has no combat training and likely no firearms handling skills. And as mention above, the risk of him killing an innocent person is high and a major liability. Not that the Taliban or ISIS care if you’re a reporter or not, but the point still stands.
