All of the songs were written by Houston Davis for Ross Barnett's 1959 and 1967 campaigns for governor of Mississippi. As a little trivia; Mississippi's state song "Go, Mississippi" was also written by Davis, in 1962, during Barnett's time as governor and uses the melody of "Roll With Ross".
