Im a former conflict zone photographer and I'll say this, it's not a place you enjoy being in, it's just a place where you're doing your job until you can get the hell out of there. I've met Ross on many occasions and he is an absolutely fantastic bloke who loves covering conflict zones, but he would rather be at a Macca's Drive-Thru ordering a Big Mac large fries and a chocolate thickshake. The man has balls.

I the beginning of the conflict, journalists had to wear blue helmets and gear, to show that they were press. After the taliban started picking out on journalists with gunfire, policies have changed and now embedded journalists also wear full camo like the military they're embedded with.
