Mine is a 20" Blue in 44mag, and I bought it to be a working gun. I removed the buckhorn, added a picatinny rail and a Holosun 503 red dot. It turned my shoulder green for weeks after my first trip to the range, so I've since added a recoil pad, and now my shoulder only turns green for weeks after I take it to the range :O ...It's fulfills it's purpose well, as long as it's purpose isn't to be fun at the range... it'll wipe the smile off your face with the first full magazine.
Lol ya the 357 wasnt as bad. But i was also shooting a old 30-06 that day so it was hard to judge what made my shoulder sore. The Rossi certainly doesnt have any padding just that metal strip
Gotta love the additional taxes. When they aren't pushing bans on barrel shrouds they're pushing another tax. They've pushed taxes on imports to the point they cost almost as much as a domestic made.
Everybody that removes the buckhorn sight says it's super easy. I had to use a dremel to grind it out. Tried a punch and hammer but just ended up scratching the barrel.
It is super easy. Lift the buckhorn upward Remove the riser and drive it out from left to right. Sucks you had to dremel it out. Degrease the scratched area hit it with some xxx steel wool and put some Birchwood Casey cold blue on it. Wait 10 minutes lightly hit it with steel wool again add another coat or 2 then oil it should look like new.
What can I say? It's a Rossi. It sure ain't a Winchester. It shoots. It's rough. It works. And it sure ain't a Winchester. It's a Rossi. Not a Winchester.
