My grandfather musician told me "you always recognise a piece from Rossini, he's always in a hurry because he has to go stir the tomato sauce". Rossini was an extremely enthusiastic chef, in addition to a great composer.
@@19franken95 and he was writing same thing patriotic. This composition was written to incite the Italian to rebel against the stranger occupying forces in Italy. So he used the music to give them the rebelius spirit needed to fight the other soldiers . at the time Rossini was a papalino meaning a citizen of the pontefic state. Supported by the French the Austrian and held Europe. Is fast pace is due to excite the spirit of the rebels against everybody. Viva Rossini e Verdi.

I've probably watched this 100+ times and love it every time. Between the conductor's actions, the gray bearded cello player and the first violin the enjoyment they are all having with this wonderful piece makes it just a special video. Thanks to all of them for their performance.
One thing that stands out when watching it is that the conductor has no music in front of him and no one in the symphony is looking at the conductor but they are all in sync.
I, too, loved this performance, and especially noted the passion of the lead violinist (on the right hand of the conductor). She almost bounces out of her seat when the beat picks up. Impressive...I love PASSIION IN MUSIC and IN IT'S PERFORMERS!!
+Mark Younger Yes I loved the standing up bit too, in fact I loved all of it from start to finish. Brilliant musicians but I supposed you have to be to play in that orchestra. Absolutely superb!!
Yes, this is a truly fantastic rendition, but for contrast I welcome you to listen to the Grimley brass band rendition from the movie "Brassed Off" ( ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-X2Wbshh6hUo.html). Pay particular attention to the cornet solo. I love "William Tell' no matter who plays it.
Almost forgot...that flourish at the end, with the orchestra standing! That's more than just good musicianship. That's showmanship! Totally delightful! This is the kind of visual and aural gem you want to watch and experience over and over again.
È un brano vivace e coinvolgente, questo spiega l'atteggiamento dei musicisti, e sicuramente il direttore d'orchestra ha una personalità che spicca molto. Fa piacere guardare e ascoltare questo video.
This conductor is the ultimate best. Doesn't require sheet music. Knows exactly what section plays what and when. I watch this video at least once a day.👍👍
Leonard Bernstein and Von Karajan can conduct symphonies without looking at texts as well. I’m pretty sure any decent conductor knows a symphony or two by heart.
A korean conductor conducting a japanese orchestra, playing an opera in french language written by an Italian composer based on the Switzerland's national hero.

These are the best vibrations that a team produces! In the highest perfection and with a quality that would certainly have moved the composer to tears! I thank this grandiose man, gifted beyond measure and capable of divine precision! In particular, the unique incomparable Jedi Knight of Music! Thank you Mr. Myung-Whun Chung - the master of conductors! A German country bumpkin.
I love how the conductor has complete control of the orchestra. His movements, eye contact and attention to detail is superb. The ending is so powerful as the entire orchestra stands up. This is how such a great piece should be performed, with a powerful orchestra and conductor. Bravo!
Il suono è stupendo, il gesto magnifico, il ritmo ed il piglio è assolutamente perfetto... vive questa musica come un altro genio italiano... Toscanini !!!
Absolutely beautiful. Is this possibly the best rendition of this piece? All the more impressive for being somewhat faster than similar performances by other orchestras. What about the conductor? Unlike most, he doesn’t turn around take a bow and accept the applause of the audience. He genuinely applauds the orchestra and leaves without any adulation for himself. How refreshing and humble, and a stark contrast to western conductors. Incredible Thank you
As a kid in the 50's, I saat in front of our radio and listened to this music almost every day. This rendition puts the radio to shame. It's powerful, heart stimulating and very well done. I too listen or watch this at least once a week to get my energy level up.
The reason why this is the best version of all is because it's much more hastier, clarity among instrument sounds and very good bass in it when you hear it in headphones. Not every other version of other conductors produces that.
A spirited and wonderfully played performance. As one who grew up watching THE LONE RANGER on Saturday morning TV, I think I have heard this masterpiece enough times to say that the Tokyo folks did Rossini proud with this performance. Tonto and the lone Ranger would have loved it!
Beautiful, amazing !!! I appreciate greatly the comment someone made here, Korean conductor, Japanese symphony, music by an Italian composer !!! Music unites us indeed !!! Note the animation of the members of the orchestra during the performance, note the smiles on their faces and the conductor near the end of the performance and note, how the audience begins the applause, of course, before the music has ended ! Glorious !!! Thanks so much for sharing ....
The splendid finale of the GUILLERMO TELL Overture, impeccably executed by the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, under the masterful conduct of the South Korean Myung-Whun Chung. Japanese excellence is demonstrated as always.
I could listen every day for remainder of my life and never tire of it. It's thrilling to hear and to know such talent exists not just in the composition but the musicians of course as well.
Rossini would be proud and amazed just classic music at its very best the musicians and conduter did a excellent job let's honor and appreciate this masterpiece of music to the lone ranger god bless you guys thanks you guys rock way to go very impressed sadly you can do my job and I can't do your job much love and appreciation job well done you should be amazed and proud keep on playing !!!
