John Didn't make fun of Nicodemus, He told Nicodemus the truth, and Then explained the meaning of the term Born Again, which is Neither Exaggeration nor Making fun of Nicodemus, but helping Him come the knowledge of the Truth, and it Jesus(God) who told Nicodemus that Truth.
Firstly thanks to the Rotary Club of Seattle for sharing this discussion/video. I too am a Rotarian and sort of have played lip service to the the no sex, religion, or politics mantra within the organization. @Drew Collins While I am no fan of the four way test, I can't see how sweeping difficult subjects under the table makes for good will and better relationships. Last year District 5080 (21/22) had Danica and Jordan present on diversity, equity and inclusion. While I disagreed with certain philosophical positions Danica presented, I think the whole purpose was worthwhile. I understand while it may make some Rotarians uncomfortable be be classed as privileged. I disagreed with Danica, but that is OK. So if Rotarians can't examine and deal with contentious issues, who can? PS ... thanks PDG Lynn
Every Biblical book was written by Jewish People, because Christianity is rooted in Judaism. That should NOT come as a Surprise to any Born again Christian.
How do you know that Jesus said it? Where’s the evidence? The Bible is not sufficient evidence because it was written by ancient superstitious men who didn’t understand how the earth and nature worked. The gospels were written decades after Jesus and not by his apostles. So it’s based on hearsay. You know that hearsay evidence doesn’t hold up in court. And if god is anywhere near good then god wouldn’t torture people in hell for all eternity just for not believing. God is something made up by all religions. Who in their right minds would want to worship a narcissistic god that you claim is real? Definitely not me.
But Geof... u dont know that Jesus said it. The author said he said it ... and the author was not there. He wrote it decades later. Its what he...the author... wanted to believe Jesus said. And U want to believe he said it too! Shelby simply says we dont KNOW for certain that Jesus said anything. Its people like u ... who were not there... who say he said it. Having said that... I am a Christian. I dont care whether he said it or not.
