Couple pointers about electrical tape: 1) Do not tear the tape, cut it instead. Tearing stretches the end and when it eventually shrinks back it will happily start coming off. 2) For wet applications such as these cables that get coolant splashed on them it is better to use heat-fusing tape. While more expensive than regular it has a major advantage of fusing together and shrinking slightly when heated, forming a tighter practically permanent repair.

i'm not sure if the haas cables are at risk of this but heat-fusing tape can damage the insulation between the internal cables due to high heat. Self-fusing electrical tape (or sometimes called "cold shrink tape") would be more adviceable, even though it is (once again) more expensive.

@@angrydragonslayer Huh. Never heard of heatshrink of any kind needing to get so hot that the heat damages wires it's going on.
@angrydragonslayer
@angrydragonslayer 3 года назад
@@AgentWest this is more of an "operator error" thing but some shrinks will need more heat than cables not meant for hot operating temps can handle. Ignoring those relatively rare mixes, i've seen several (and heard of many more) people who just kept heating heat-shrink after it had already shrunk. Edit: i realised that both scenarios are operator error

@@angrydragonslayer But if i heat it up more it will just shrink tighter, right? Right? lol To be fair, i have done _that_ a few times when i first started doing electrical work. And i guess you're right, some specialized cables may have a different covering, though i'm pretty sure most are PVC these days.
@angrydragonslayer
@angrydragonslayer 3 года назад
@@AgentWest most cheap cables are using PVC and they're actually the vulnerable ones I have heat shrink tubes in my shop for a special silicone/PEEK mix insulation meant for use uncomfortably close to blast furnaces. Your heat source will melt PVC (not normal silicone though) before it even begins to shrink

Put more content out on the CM-1. There is almost nothing about them on RU-vid or anywhere else. Only 2 or 3 short demos and a company that has an OM1. Do content on your odd machines like the gantry series and the horizontal series machines as well.

Is there a way to drain the oil without taking the rotary out of the mill?

How do you calibrate zero on the 4th axis . When i home my 4th axis it reads 0 degrees on the controller but it is 2 degrees out.

Is it normal for a new HRT160 to be losing some oil?

Mine does too, trying to figure out what's wrong. Did you figure it out yet?
@marcinwarmuz3646

@@JohnBlaze505 Turns out the seal behind the platter was letting some oil out even when unit was not in use. Haas Service replaced it on warranty free of charge and it hasn't leaked a drop since. It's a quick job too, it took the tech less than 2 hours to have it done.

Rolltech Innovation manufactures machine coolant saver. Serious threats to productivity and health are bacteria and fungi which are commonly found in industrial coolants. This coolant bacteria filter has some advantageous features include: last a life time, with guarantee of extended life of coolant with bacteria filter - no consumables, no electricity, no chemical dosing, etc. It is a one time investment, ROI within 4-6 Months, Saves on input of fresh oil and disposal cost like etp treatment, or giving it to authorised recycler. These mineral oil based coolant are prone to generation of bacteria which produces foul odour, often from hydrogen sulfide [rotten egg smell]. Rolltech Innovation "Aqualogic" filter is an innovative and economical method of continuously controlling these micro organisms and the odour they generate. "Aqualogic" bacteria coolant filter consists of series of high-purity multi-metal fibres cased within a stainless steel tube. the dissimilar ions in the multimetal alloy bed undergo a natural electrochemical reaction, also known as an oxidation-reduction reaction. Which Kills the all the Microbial activity in the coolant 24/7 call us at +91-702-723-6191 or write to us at rolltechin(at)gmail.com Enjoy the coolant being running without changing it, just keep the coolant healthy ##
