Definitely the rx5 🤤

Respect to the RX-5 I never liked them but now they are so rare and that is so well packaged it's hard to pass it. It's so hard these days - do you modify or leave stock(ish) as prices are going up and original cars are near impossible to find.

I choose two favourite Mazda's. Mazda rx7 Savannah and rx3.. capella is bonus one to me!

The dark green RX 3 (13a) and RX4, when dreams come true !!

Thanks for the kind words mate. Years ago the Cosmos were harvested for their 20B engines as they were the only car to come standard with one. Now days having a factory 20B without engineering and standing out from the crowd makes them highly desirable. Visually they’ve aged well to.

@@craignielson6605 - I've owned a few of them. They come together nicely when given the usual mods, but under the skin they are basically an upmarket 2-door RX4. They have the advantages of lightly longer wheelbase, Power Steer, Air Cond, rear coil springs, etc - nicer and more refined than any other RX3 or RX4 of the time. Unfortunately they tend to get unfairly compared to the RX3, which is a significantly smaller and lighter car than the RX4/RX5. The 1st Gen RX7 was the replacement for the RX3, not the RX5 so in a different class. The downside of the RX5 is that much of the suspension, brakes and wheels are unique to that model. To get shocks, I used rear Konis for a Volvo and had them re-valved, and the front strut inserts were also custom valved. You have to get creative when restoring them, rather than custom-fabricating everything underneath!

That happens all the time at Rotary Revival , around 300 rotaries on the starting line at once!

They are certainly getting popular now days and they have aged well.

That "over-weight" perception is not quite what it seems. The RX5 was only 50kg heavier than a 13B RX4, and it included a significantly higher equipment specification. The RX5 has A/C, Power steer, Rear Disc brakes, nicer trim, etc. Optioned equally, they'd probably weight about the same. ... The RX5 generally handled better than an RX4, since it had trailing arms and coils, rather than leaf springs at the rear. The wheelbase was longer, plus it had larger front discs and it had rear disc brakes too! But fundamentally the RX4 and RX5 are the basically same car under the skin, and both were considerably larger and heavier than the smaller RX3. ... Whilst the Gen 1 RX7 was lighter, it was the replacement for the RX3, not the RX5. The Gen 2 FC and Gen 3 FD manual RX7's were about 50kg heavier than a manual RX5, and the Gen 3 auto was 120kg heavier than an auto RX5. So, if the RX5 is considered "heavy" then what's a FC Whilst having much more powerful engines, the JC Cosmo was between 300 and 400kg heavier than an RX5. So, a triple-rotor in an RX5 is basically the same power-to-weight as an RX4 with equal A/Con and P/Steer (or delete).
