Cool, yet another guru explaining why something is bad without ever offering an alternative solution (or at least not one that isn't behind a pay wall) IRAs arent meant to be cash flows, they are meant as a retirement fund for people to live off once they reach that age. 99% will not have the income to invest heavily into other options. Most companies will match some portion of your contribution into an IRA, so for 99% of people, having an IRA is a great option. How about instead of potentially making people completely screw up their retirement, help them by showing them what to do with the money remaining AFTER they've invested in their IRA.

Here. No pay wall. GarrettGunderson.com/tools. GarrettGunderson.com/offer. Enjoy. Yet why should everything be free? Why is it bad to write and sell a book? What is your logic? Do you do your work for free? People aren't getting what they hoped in retirement from these limited and failing plans. Lots in both books I'm not charging you for on what you might do.

@@GarrettGundersonTVNot a solution. He asked you for a clear answer for an alternative solution and you provide him with a link to your website to buy books that just make you money, but not helping the people who are watching. Then continue to hassle him with morality questions. What a joke. Typical scam. Say something outrageous to grab our attention and redirect people to a place where you profit. What an idiot. Get a haircut gandalf. Keep scrolling folks, nothing valuable to gain.

With traditional IRA, you. also invest the money you didn't pay on taxes. More money to invest=more growth in the long term. Not saying it's better than a Roth, but you can't ignore that advantage when making the decision.

What happens when you go to take the money out? And at what tax rate?
@CosmicEncounter7

The IRA still has to pay taxes on the interest when withdrawn. By paying the taxes on the initial amount you don't have as much money to make interest on which is where a big chunk of the money is going to come from.

If the tax bracket is the same. It will be the same net pre or post tax. So Roth or Traditional- same math. Unless you have an exit strategy to manage taxes when taking out of a traditional.

(1) Ive never paid a single fee for my Roth, (2) Its better to invest in it early in your journey while your taxes are low and (3) its not all of your net worth, just a portion, you can still invest in real estate/etc.

You have never paid a custodial fee? How does the Roth provider make money? How did you fund it? No expense ratio on the investments? If you are a Haines owner you can keep your taxes low. Are you doing self directed? Be careful. Once in an IRA you lose depreciation benefits for tax purpose. It goes from capital gains to ordinary income if a traditional Ira. And now has government restrictions.

@@GarrettGundersonTV Fidelity doesnt charge annual fees for the account, I fund it by monthly transfer from my checking and invest in low cost index funds, were talkin like .3% or less, and they regularly beat actively managed funds. Its truly passive, unlike real estate, and since Im holding it for the long haul I dont really care what the markets do in the short term. When I was in the 12% federal tax bracket it made ton of sense to put money in there and I think most people should. We dont know what tax rates will be in the future but I plan on being in a higher bracket. Roth is a great tool when used right.

Its like social security

Social security comes from taxes and have to pay it. IRAs are optional and you control where the money is invested.

I thought you've spoken extensively with Mat Sorensen. Do you two disagree on the Self-Directed Roth IRA/LLC strategy?
