Rotorway 2021 Gathering Demo Ride for Marcia

New camera position! One of the fun things about these gatherings is that I get to give rides on occasions. This was Marcia's ride. Her husband has built a Rotorway, and is presently flying off his required 40 hour test flight regime, and she wanted a ride! Her first Rotorway ride, and when given the stick, I could tell she would be an easy study!

@@captianhardy Still in the shop for vibration fix. The mechanic hasn’t had time to work on it. Not really a problem until now since our north country weather is just starting to warm up, but it’s time to light a fire under his butt.

Hey Jim, I've scanned the entire Rotorway webpage but cannot find info on pilot size. I'm a big guy (6'5'' 230 lbs) and the smallest Cessna I can fly (comfortably) is a 182. I'm curious what your height/weight is and if you've ever met a Rotorway owner who is about my size.

Hey! As I recall, the max seat size is 220? I'm sure it's never been exceeded :) the 6'5" may be an issue for long term comfort. even I at 6 foot find myself leaning forward, but it's more for visibility I think than anything else. Fine one near you and have a sit down! jim

@@captianhardy Thanks Jim. I seem to recall it holds 102 pounds of fuel (without aux) so I'm curious about how much flight time you get out of that. I'm guessing around 2 hours with a 30-minute reserve?

@@UltimateAnarchy Helicopters only require 20 minute reserves night or day. Mine generally burns about 9.5 GPH and plan on being back on the ground at about 1.3 hours to assure the aprox 3 ish gallons needed for reserve. The 162F burns less so you'll get a bit more time. I'm 6' and 175 pounds by the way.

i am in the market for a rotorway .. i am trying to get on to the R.O.G rotorway owners group but i have been waiting for weeks now to get approved from the administrator .. maybe you can shake the guy up to get me approved for lawrence weigt !!! hahahaha.. would not mind building one or finish building one that someone has started or buy one that is at a fair price .. love watching your videos !! thank you

Thank you sir! I've not done a lot of late since when I look at them now, I don't see anything new. I guess the viewing public need to specify what they want to see!? I'll leave this link and see if that will help you get a hold of "ron" for help. I hear he's not really active, but does respond. @@captianhardy Your own maintenance series in detail would be very interesting to watch! Not really any of those out there aside from the old RW videos and the ones that are simply are just timelapse that don't share many details.
