I'm deployed right now and because of Covid we don't know when we can go home. I randomly found this channel and I look forward to each upload. Its weirdly calming for my anxiety and I love that you love the cows. Keep up the great content. Thank you
Watch baby goats on sunflower farms. In or out of "jamies/Pjs". Sorry you are away from home. With Jesus (His death, burial and resurrection 1cor. -4) you are never alone. Thank you.
My husband: A large animal Veterinarian, “what are you watching?” Me: “Hoof GP trim a dry cow.” Husband: “You could just come ride in the vet truck with me you know!” Me: “In my pajamas?” 🤪😂😷🤷♀️
RU-vid algorithm: Hey we have some videos of a guy cleaning cow hoves, want to see them. Me: I don't know... maybe...one... Also me: 13 videos in... Well, I guess this is what I watch for entertainment from now on...
Look up LCC, it's a guy deep cleaning rugs, helps me sleep and ite so relaxing, I have no idea how I got to there hit apparently RU-vid algorithm thinks I either need to relax more or yet my carpet cleaner out x You can thank me later 😉🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Being a dairy farmer that does a lot of his own trimming (I do use a foot trimmer with a roll over crush) it’s always fascinating to watch someone else trim. I know you show your worse cases and I’m so glad I get so few because I use a manual crush and it’s shite! I’ve only got 55 cows so can’t justify a crush like yours but I’m envious; your new crush is superb.
I always wonder, who invented the crush? I’ve never even heard of anything like it. How does it know how high up to take the cows foot? How does it not break the cows foot when it pulls it up? It’s a super cool machine
I'm a beauty therapist but I suffer from anxiety and at the start of the new year i began having horrible panic attacks. I started to watch the hoof gp and im hook when I feel my anxiety is high i go and watch the hoof gp. Keep up your fab videos. There's people out there your helping and not just the the cow's too. ☺
Sai Ashish there are a lot of farmers who post all kinds of content, great way to find out everything about getting food to the store. There’s way more than I ever realized too. Lots of farmers who really love and care for their animals.
Sai,.....it won't be the last time. The only "cow" I have is in the freezer, but this is just so oddly fascinating, and Graham is such a sweetie, I find myself checking in all the time. Enjoy.
Lmdao SAME!!😂👊lmao im in Bmore, ive NEVER owned a cow or even been on 1 bfor but this keeps my attention! I watch it as much as i can!😂lmao i dont get it man!! I just dont get it!!😂
It's comforting seeing the progress each cow makes. I appreciate the fact that you work WITH the cow whose foot you're trimming. You never force anything on any of them. If a cow wants to kick about, you let her. If she's scared, you stop to comfort her. It makes me wonder if any of them recognize you when you come back. I'm sure some of them do!
Good for you. It's honest work. If you don't mind I have some advice 1) Work smarter, not harder. 2) Always do quality work. 3) A good reputation is hard to earn but easily ruined. 4) Don't trade your honor or morals for anything or any reason.
I know you've been using red wrap to hold on the clay, but I have inside information... The girls would really rather have neon pink wrap. ❤🌅🌵 p.s. Pink might be easier for the farmers to see and remove as well!
same could be said of a neon blue or purple! The real problem is how muddy the wrap gets. The farmer's got to rinse off her foot a bit more to make sure he gets the whole wrap!
@@aelfrey3918 , he mentioned in a recent video (4-5? back from today), that he likes red because it stays on longer. 💜🌞🌵😷 P.s. I have mentioned to him that the bulls would like blue instead of the red, so like minds think alike!
Yeah, cause pink is the only colour one should ever use for females 🙄. If it was just to stand out and be easy to spot, neon yellow or orange would work better
In this time of separation and lock down it is so calming to watch a kind man of knowledge and compassion out in the world caring for living creatures. Thank you again. Bill
Poor girl ! I am so glad that she is owned by a farmer that really cares for his animals. You did a fantastic job on getting to the root of the problem It warms my heart to see how gentle you are with her treatment We all look forward to see how she progresses Great music
Our otherwise adorable little dog turns into a Tasmanian devil when it’s nail clipping time ...we’ve ended up having to go to the vets every four to five months and he gets sedated and nails trimmed and any other things checked..three different vets all tried to get him done without knocking him out and it was just too dangerous for staff as he could get out of any muzzle and bit several people , even with four people holding him he couldn’t be kept still and was just getting more and more terrified which we don’t want ...so now we pay out approx $160 every time his nails need trimming ....
Ha ha ,I was thinking the same thing. I have a lagotto I hat turns into a hysterical opera singer. I have made a construction that I can only use when it’s not raining. It go’s like this! All you need is a big plastic bag from ikea yessssss the blue ones. I make 4 paw 🐾 holes in them. Then I use the old swing construction where the kids no longer play with ( grandma don’t be ridiculous). Put some climbing rope over the top. Now comes the hard part Bruno needs to go into the bag with in each hole one paw. Then the Bruno flag needs to go up the mast . Half way my grandson holds the ropes and Bruno looks at me with a “I will remember this “ but he hangs as still as can be😉. I finally can start clipping his nails and cutting the fur between the paws. Asking the vet what trick he uses to clip nails with this sort of hysterical behavior his answer was “just be patient that always works” when I was done laughing and calling him a coward with needles Bruno and I went home me telling him that we no longer go to that f*cking idiot😂.
I love your channel. I'm Mexican American. My grandfather grew up in Mexico on a ranch with cows, horses, chickens, ducks, pigs, goats and other beautiful creatures. The one thing he always said about the views. Because he loved his cows most of all. He would say "Cows are so beautiful. They have the most beautiful eyes. Prettier than any other. Their eyes really do show the simple and natural truth in those eyes. Pure love. Gorgeous Eyes". I love cows just like him. But i like the small goats as well. But when i found your page and how much you love the job and the cows. It reminded me of him. And the beautiful eyes. God bless you for taking good care of Gods creatures . Stay safe . Don't ever give up that love. 🥰👨🌾🐄🐂🐃🐐
I grew up on a dairy farm in Idaho USA where I learned the value of hard work and appreciation for these beautiful gentle animals! I love your videos and can tell you love your job! This 67 yr old Gma thinks your awesome!
I know he knows what he’s doing but it always feels like he’s cutting away too much. Then, I see the transformation and then I’m reminded that it’s so necessary for the benefit of the cattle. You sir, have one hell of a heart🙏🏼
I love how you pointed out that using the dull disc on the grinder because the manual crush left the foot more unstable while trimming. Using the sharpest tools is not always the best given the circumstances for safety reasons of both you and the cow. :)
Hey Graham, any chance you are going to take a look at the three toed cow ever again, curious to see how the foot is, probably my most satisfying video to watch on your channel.
I have not been watching your videos long but I really enjoy the work you do. You're very passionate about your work and caring towards the animals. It is a treat to see. Keep up the good work. I am now catching up on your older videos. Thank you. Keep safe.
LOVE the ariaL shots. Scotland is a beautiful country. And I definitely enjoy seeing the follow up video shots of cows that have been treated for some prior hoof problems. Plus all the explanations you provide to us non-cow city folks. Thank you Graeme!!!
Just a thought if u change your category to educational youtube hopefully will stop giving you a hard time about any slightly gorey bits just a thought hope it helps. Love your videos u do amazing work xx
At 10:00 you mentioned cows on that farm are having issues with their inside claws, does this have to do with the cows or the terrain? If it's multiple cows, I'd imagine its an issue with the ground.
Yes thats right - slightly older buildings have tighter turning spaces for the cows ... they're not narrow by any means - the cows jusgbhave to turn more corners than would be ideal
I couldn't tell you why I find this channel so satisfying, but I do. It could be the music, or maybe how much compassion and genuine love for the animals, or maybe even just hearing that delightful Scottish accent. I love this channel!
Never been on a farm for more than an hour. Didn't know this type of job existed. But I'm so glad there are people out there passionate about it. Thanks RU-vid.
again i write,,,,thanking you for the tenderness, skill, caring, and hard work you put toward these animals who cant speak of their pain. Your work is really a blessing to the animal, the owner, and to us for allowing us to see what all goes on in the process,,,,many thanks
Well she healed up well considering what her hoof looked like in the beginning ! She acted like a wise ole leader cow . One of the alpha females 🐄How often do you trim bulls hooves ? ✌
GP thanks for showing us the beautiful landscape. I agree with others when it comes to you and the cows and bulls. You have so much compassion for them. You treat them like family. ♥️♥️♥️
I find every time you pick up a hoof that is sore I say the same thing, Oh, Poor cow! I enjoy when you fix the hoof so it can heal. Never been around cows but am totally addicted to your channel. Hello from Central Illinois, USA.
I am amazed by your professionalism and care for these lucky cows. Seconds before you mentioned Craig’s comments about how much easier your new crush makes the process for the trimmer and the cow, I was thinking the same thing. It is also much safer.
Having those two crushes in the same video with the same cow moving around in the first and steady in the second really showed how luxuriant the new crush is. So glad you have what looks like the best equipment to do your best work. 👍👏
My word, she looked like that first trim was hurting her! I was wincing along with her. But, what a difference a week makes! It was great to see her looking so much better. Well done
Hi Graeme! Good video as always. I'm with Craig ... the new crush is far and away better ... y'all are standing straighter (fewer backaches) and the crush holds the cow better. Good job on this cow ... she's better for the work you've done. Cheers! PS: Great drone pics ... beautiful country!
Hey guys..just wanted to stop by and say hi and God Bless you and your families. Keep up the amazing work you do. You truly are a God sent for all of these Cows, Cattle and Bulls! It truly takes a person like you with a heart of gold to do something you love and take care of these animals the way you do and it shows each and every time when the animals continue to get better and better with each and every visit. Truly amazing work!! 😇✨💛🐄🐂
I wonder, do you find that your performance or technique has changed due to you being more aware of people online, perhaps criticising your work? Thank you for sharing this interesting trim, I hope the wee coo gets better.
I'm so glad to see you using the new crush. I sure your back feels the difference! As you get older you'll appreciate every dollar/ pound spent in this very excellent piece of equipment.
Glad to see you wearing protective gear for your face! Definitely wouldn't want you to get loose horn or gunk from a foot infection in your eye. Also I love watching you videos, you are quite the master of you craft
THANKS FROM A BOMB DISPOSAL OFFICER Graham I appreciate that this is 3 years after you filmed it so this comment will be buried however - thanks for this film. I am a huge fan of study of cross disciplinary professional practice and I get a lot from your films. I liked how this film showed the easily forgotten benefit of the right equipment in delivering the best outcome. I work as a commercial bomb disposal officer after years in the Royal Navy and getting PTSD from experiencing work done badly. Great stuff. Thank you. G
Thier Gods creatures we are in charge of thier care. So thankyou for your compassion and care. And for loving what you do. Its special people like you. 🙂♥️♥️♥️
Love your videos. I stumbled on them a year ago and they are not only very intriguing and educational but they are very calming for my severe anxiety. You and Craig are awesome. Thank you!
Hey Graeme!! I like when you add in the trimming of all the feet even if there is no issues with them!! It's not boring at all, it's relaxing to watch!! Can you please add in some more footage like that in future videos? Be well, Cheers!!
Love how much you care for these animals. I have said sometimes animals treat people better then some people. But God always knew what he was doing . God Bless You
I’m so glad to have found your amazing channel. I’m hooked 🧡 BTW your a genius with that angle grinder…learning so much from your gorgeous way of teaching, your fun personality and generous real empathy for these wonderful creatures. Thank-you. Maria from Australia 😀👌🏼
I’m really new here and I love the commentary and the beautiful places you get to go. Have you ever had a cow where both sides of the hoof is bad. And if so how do you go about fixing it.
I just got the same face shield as you to do yard work cause 2.3 acres is no joke when you live on the side of a mountain an have alot of rocks an trees an weeds the have stickers that shoot up when I'm weeding so I use it an look like a sticker bush when I'm done weeding
Texas_stone_ Stone udders vary in size, whether 'dry' or not. She does look fuller than some of the others. Also they sag as they get older. Gravity is not nice to the 'girls'.
