Back in the days we had no cd player and pc at home and my friend had this album. I was borrowing it and was going to internet cafe just to put this into cd player and listen.
Sakis: ''On the song Der Perfekte Traum we had a German guy sing and actually we were going to have Till Linderman from Rammstein do this originally, as the band wasn't as famous back then'' For more ''Non Serviam The Official Story of Rotting Christ''
For all of us here on the channel as well as for me personally this album means a lot. It is a dark diamond and a wonderful piece of art that will accompany us for a lifetime. It is a really huge record both for the Greek Scene and for the global metal community ... unique and solid as well as the band itself in our subconscious!! \m/ \m/
This album is really great. Very melodic and full of musical therapy. Had this album when it came out. Was into Dimmu Borgir and saw them live. This would be a great show.
Because this RC period is very Gothic leaning. But ad 'Triarchy of the lost Lovers' to it ! You should also like "early Paradise Lost", "early Tiamat", My Dying Bride, and Type O Negative ( in case you dont know this Bands..) 🖤🤟
This was the first album I ever listened to from RC, and fell in love. Then I went on the dial-up internet and found some scattered themes from Non Serviam which took weeks to download. Then Khronos came out, and man did I listen the s*** out of that album.
I love this album. I was in a band back in 99 that opened for them and cradle of filth on this album tour. The whole band singed the cd after I bought it. Mixed by Xy of Samael. This band rules.
As much as his other works are praised, this is hands down the best of all. In this album and in A Dead Poem there is an exquisite guitar work, something that is not appreciated in Aealo and Kata Ton ... which are the ones that the clergy like the most. I consider these last two to be at a very high level, but not at the level of Sleep of the Angels and A Dead Poem. They have changed the concept a bit, now they create more sensations with atmospheres, arrangements and other types of structures in their songs (which are very good) sacrificing that personal and characteristic sound that the previous albums has (A Dead Poem and Sleep of the Angels) in the guitar section, melody, solos, riffs ... Anyway, their essence remain ... and we like it.
@@arisgtr7753this one and A Dead Poem, far from it. More in the likes of dark/gothic metal, and if we add Khronos ΧΞΣ into the mix there's industrial experimentations as well :)
Επισης δεν εχω καταλαβει τον λογο που το After dark i feel που υπηρξε μερος του δισκου A dead poem το εβαλαν και σε αυτον τον δισκο.
Is it just me or the synth at the beginning of 'Sleep of the Angels' is the same that the one that can be heard at Varathron's 'His Majesty at the Swamp' first track?
I don't think so. This was recorded and produced at Woodhouse in Hagen. It actually sounds a lot, production-wise, like Moonspell's Irreligious. Also recorded there.
