Meanwhile Kallas at home: Husband's business was a middle-man for laundering Russian money and selling sanctioned goods to Russia. Also, cuts defense spending in the 2024 budget to the point the army can't replace the ammo and equipment sent to Ukraine instead of ending an exception to dividend taxes that effectively means companies don't pay taxes on profit when they reinvest it back to the company; or even just issuing debt to make those replacements. She talks big on the international stage, but hasn't been following her own inspiring advice at home. So, you know, typical hypocrite politician.

I was proud of our Taoiseach's (prime minister) address at the peace summit in Switzerland 🇨🇭. He promised to continue donating humanitarian aid to Ukraine and to give refuge to 100,000 Ukrainians. Don't laugh that's what was used in the USSR as currency was vodka. My Polish neighbour told it was like this during communist times in her country. Her father was an alcoholic and he got money but the rest of his pay was vodka. Almost as what the white people did to natives. They used alcohol as currency and since they were so addicted they used it.

Great work Artur. Another way to look at tax increases - is based on the percentage increase - compared to the old rate. A jump from 20% to 25% is an actual increase of 5%, yes. But it is a 25% INCREASE compared to the previous rate! And a jump from 15% to 22% is a 47% increase!! All this while russian infrastructure like city central heating systems and new dams - are - in - ruin. The beginning of the end...

China insists that Russia receive payment in yuan for crude oil purchased by Russia. If Russia is facing a yuan shortage it means that Russia is in a negative trade situation with China for other goods.

In reality, Russian banks have been ordered to make the dollar so expensive that the average Russian will not be able to afford to exchange rubles for dollars, thus preventing the ruble from collapsing. If you understand this differently, please educate me. Thank you Paul.

In Latvia the prices have gone up so bad that the tax increase wouldn't matter, that 21% tax is making more money with current prices than it would have if we had previous prices and 21.3% tax I also feel that fuel is the most expensive as per my experience. Estonia, Lithuania, Poland has decent fuel prices, in this case for diesel it's somewhere in between 1.388-1.428€/L, Latvia on the other hand has 1.587€/L diesel price

US should make a sanction carve out to start supplying them with more booze. 1 Billion usd of Everclear would prob be enough to ensure they are toasted all the time. Alternatively, Ukraine could ship booze to areas about to be overrun. Make sure the leave a few cases behind as a boon to Russians. Could really help the subsequent counter attack.

As I understood it Putin said in order to start negotiations with Ukr was that Ukraine had to pull out of all Ukr lands Russia claims are Russian then and not until then Russia would say what else Ukr had to give up to have peace. It may have been a bad translation but...

The ruble exchange rate is equal to the number or Rubles the Russian government requires for the purchase of one dollar. That's a hard and fixed number that can't be manipulated with deceit and propaganda. If Russia claims that it will provide a dollar in exchange for 70 rubles, but doesn't have any dollars available when people come to purchase them, then that's deceit. At some level of Rubles, the dollars will magically become available. Ask the Russian officials "How many rubles do I need to give you before you give me back one dollar?" There is an answer to that question. Russia wants to hide that answer.

Well, first of all, sanctions against Moscow exchange won't affect Russian external trade, so they still will get dollars. Second, dollar is like 20% in Russian external trade now, so Russia doesn't need huge amounts of dollars anymore, since the demand reduced greatly and keeps dropping, there is no dollars shortages expected.

And this will only get worse as the government floods the economy with money from its war chest. Trolls interpret this as good. They're deluded.

Russian economical collapse 2.0. I remember watching the first one on TV when I was 15 years old. Lineups down the street for a loaf of bread or meat. People were fist fighting for sugar in the grocery store. I figured Putin would have done anything in his power to avoid another collapse but boy was I wrong. He's begging for it.

@@karilang9377 Yes, in the USSR there were queues in stores, but people were still happy. In the 90s there was a collapse of the country, but now we have literally everything. Store shelves are full of products. Supermarkets are located 5 minutes from our houses. I watch several channels about life in the USA and Europe and I can say that I am glad that I live in Russia

@SvetlanaVoikova I travelled in Soviet Union and in Russia starting 1983 and last time 2021. I know exactly what people had and didn't have. They mainly didn't know what was existing. Now they know but not have money to buy. Still, that time and today, the main thing they are lacking is freedom.

@SvetlanaVoikova is different from what hundreds of highly educated people told me in Soviet Union. And most of them left to West when was possible. And today, any of the Russian people I know are happy with life. If you work for the government today, better take payment with potatoes and onions.
