Gumbo is right! Plus it's always nice to have a pickup truck in the middle of where you need to work. Like you say, needs more work, but what you did so far is night and day better looking.
Dale Premo LoL yeah the truck doesn’t help. Thank you I’m anxious to get back there and finish it up. They are bricking it now so it’s tough to work around them
You did really well for what you had to work with as far as dirt. maybe the weather will change and head in the right direction for once. On the bright side days are getting longer, which lets you get in a few more hours. I'm sure you really like working more, lol.
Muck Muck Muck ! Gotta love working with wet gumbo and rocks ! lol That's a nice home site next to the pond. Always love the siding and gutter guys they really think about the finish work guy.....NOT ! Nice job there Brandon you da man !
It was sure nice to see they cleaned up the yard before you got there ;) And that the dirt was so nice and easy to work with lol!! But it ended up looking REALLY good, especially considering what you had to work with (and around)! The video looks really good too! You must be figuring out the settings on stuff - looked and sounded good! Thanks for the video!
BurningDinosaurs LoL it was cleaner minus the truck in the way. Thanks I have figured out some on the audio, I don’t think I’ve done much on the picture but I could have hit something lol! Thanks again
hello there Brandon. great video as always. hope you and Mrs elite earthworks are doing very well. thanks for the awesome content bud. as always stay safe out there and take care. hi Mrs elite earthworks. ✌👍💪👌
Im guessing this is a joystick machine? If so whe you are final grading do u use the right joystick more then left? Or do u barely touch the left joystick?
Great video. Would you recommend a takeuchi? Bobcats are so much easier to come by but I heard everyone loves there takeuchi's! Have you had any issues with yours? Thanks
Travis L thank you! Yes I love Takeuchi, would definitely recommend them but it you don’t have a dealer nearby that’s understandable. I haven’t had any major issues, this machine has right at 7,000 hours on it. I did just change the pilot pump and I put my first set of sprockets on it at 5500 hours. They are beast for sure. Thanks again
When your doing the rough grade like that especially about at the end of this video before you talked about how crappy it was. How far do you cut down to leave for good fill❓I don't know if I said that right as I'm so tired right now lol‼️ I just thought if it's really rough you have to leave more for good fill. Thanks for sharing your video.
Mark Mortensen yeah I will put about 6” of good dirt on top of it. I still need to cut down behind the curb in the front yard and it should settle a bunch on the sides of the foundation since it was just back filled. I’ll go through and do another rough grade before I add any dirt. Thanks again Mark
Do you do it all by eye? I have zero experience, but want to use this tool to do a rather complex (from my point of view) grading project. I have 2 acres with a ditch in front a house in the middle and a 1/3 acre pond on the side of the house. So I need to grade toward the ditch in some areas, toward the pond in others, away from the house always, etc. Do you ever drive wood pins marked with depths or do you just eyeball everything?
Yes most of my yards I eyeball in unless it needs a swale or the drainage is really close I’ll use a laser level. You could set stakes to help get the elevation your looking for. A lot of times I start spreading dirt up by the house and driveway to use that as my line and work my way out.
Can't believe that when you come in on these jobs that you need to clean up all the other sub-contrators garbage before you can do your thing, surely they know you are coming in to do it hope you get paid for the extra work for clearing their shit.
