Thanks Niels for letting Misha drive your car :D Also own one in the same colour .. I use that 99% of the time to drive my kid to nursery or to get groceries .. I now feel sad that I can't find any racetrack that allows EVs in Ireland (even in england/wales apparently)... It's becoming a real problem. I guess as EVs are becoming super common, they need to change that rule ...

Agreed. We should be appreciating what EVs can do that ICEs cant rather than trying to poorly imitate them. Similarly I dont like those fake gearshifts a lot of manufacturers are implementing

The reason the construction workers gave was "the cars will be much faster now and need to be slowed down". I'll keep my comments to myself.

My initial thought was: "Wow this makes this corner more dangerous as it already is (liftoff oversteer), but when I think about it, it´s compensated by not getting unsettled by smother tarmac and therfor better control into the turn. And in the end, we all avoid the undriveable curbs and rumble over those low enough. So it´s just one more u should not hit or in other words: If this high curb is "wrong" then all other high curbs are also "wrong"

Same here. I never even thought owning a Kia one day. Guess what?? I did the move last week and it's by far the best car I have ever own. Which includes owning previously Mercedes, Porsche, Jaguar and BMW.

How often are you going across country? I have an EV and do 99.9% of my charging at home. If I need to do a road trip I rent something way in advance. That small inconvenience is more than worth the much better driving experience and not having to go to a gas station IMO. If you can charge at home EVs are def worth looking into, I know so many enthusiasts who absolutely love them.

@@future62 For me, and yes I realize that I am an exception here, I travel often across country. For me, it makes sense to get a hybrid vehicle for traveling across country despite it being a bit expensive (depending on what you are looking at). And, I am speaking out of my own personal experiences with EVs in general and from what I have read online. That said, I will say this. I can see the benefit of charging at home and driving locally on battery power without having a need to otherwise consume fuel in a conventional vehicle. I was just saying for those that travel across country often and do not want to fly IMO EVs are not there yet to reliably take you accross country without having to stop and recharge multiple times, assuming the infrastructure is there to do so.

I think the idea of having an EV for daily/track use and then having a giant “tow rig” SUV for family trips sounds just about perfect…

@@EstorilE36M345 I have to agree with you on that one. But, to each their own as each person is different. Personally, thinking it through, I can't see myself taking cross country trips in a large SUV but then again it is only me and one other person. A mid-size sedan with hybrid capabilities for me is more realistic. But yes I can see the daily/track thing for an EV being a good thing too.

Start with 2.2bar and cold tires, do a lap and release air until you're back at 2.2. Repeat if pressure goes above 2.2 again. In my experience pressures increase by about 0.3-0.4 bar on track, but it will vary from car to car and tyre to tyre, so its best to just see what your car and tires do. Driving with slightly high pressures on track is in no way dangerous :)

The manual should state tires pressures for track usage. Atleast the i30N does so.

Low 9's seems to be the average 100-200 for the EV6 GT according to various youtube videos. But power to weight ratio between this and a Volvo 850 at 375 hp is roughly the same, so it's not all that strange?

There was a pause due to caution at 4:18, but I believe both the Round 1 lap (/watch?v=PPG0_e6-ngY) and the L'argus hot lap (/watch?v=AGmT4vsAKGM) were well under 8 minutes!

I'm still wondering why there's still no official laptime at the ring for the EV6 GT. Lot of people seem to refer to the 7.45 ish time set by L'argus, but that's a BTG lap (with quite a bit of traffic I might add). Would be interesting to see a propper lap on an empty circuit with a pro driver 🤩

@@lukemothug I don't think so, it is only marginally less powerful, this fills the same position in the market and is almost as expensive.

no, ion5n has the new and bigger battery, difference suspension, new infotainment and exclusive N software management. 2025 EV6 GT will try to match the specs but Kia is taking a different approach than Hyundai's in terms "sound engine", Kia will not do that fake sound or fake shift which is fine.

@@Visualhead_Spacer The EV6 GT has 430kw comapred to 320kw for Ioniq 5 non N series. I have been for a ride in the EV6 GT and it has fake sounds.

@@jamocerwin5841 l'argus was quite impressed but said they would love to see Kia make a real sportscar/sportscoupe based on this. Lower, lighter and more sporty. But the car is definitely fun..check out their drifting on the Nürburgring.

@@GDM22 I haven't a clue what you're getting at! My comment was about the car, it and all electric cars are soulless, a lot of them are amazingly fast but that is it! An electric car will never feel or sound like a 7 series BMW or Golf R32 or Passat R36 and others that I have owned and driven round the ring and Hockenheim or Spa in Belgium and a few circuits in the UK. Have you driven round the Ring?

@@paradad999 A begrudging compliment followed by a putdown. Being fast is able to be objectively measured, saying something is souless is just your opinion and can't be measured as it will vary based on peoples preferences. I am sure people who watched this video can see the absence of engine noise, vibrations, gear changes etc and can form their own opinion whether that is something they may or may not appreciate.

That's the trouble, the motors make very little sound so if you add fake noises it just seems a bit pointless. (Other than some noise at low speeds to warn pedestrians if course)
