I think that I don’t know how many people can benefit from you three by just just listening to Professionals just talking about these applications, think you got a big thing there if there was a monthly live thing, or just talking about questions people send you among the three of you. 👍👍👍Great episode, bugger that the camera stopped.

Thank you for this interview....it really gets into further details for someone like me who needs to know on a 23' Glasply boat project will be starting soon. This is my first big project and these videos will help immensely to build up confidence and knowledge. It especially helps when concerning spending money on something that you want to Begin and End with successful results. Great job 👏

Maybe gather in a more curved setting. So guests are in the same plane, more or less. Lens seemed wide angle. Also, ideas on protecting job from sun and wind.

I just finished my first boat build last February and I used Total Boat wet edge paint. This was a fiberglass over plywood construction using epoxy. I think it’s pretty good paint but the cure time for each coat to be able to sand it was days. My last coat of primer took a week to cure enough to sand. I forgot to mention I live in Florida so these extended cure times was due to high humidity. Anyway, on my next build, whenever that will be, I want to try a 2 part primer and paint like Alexseal. Hopefully it will have faster cure time and be a harder finish once cured.

Thanx for all your posts, I have learned how to fibre glass my own stringers and standsions into a 40 ft cruiser and lots of unwanted outlets now filled properly thanx to all your advice. This post was perfect timing as I'm very close to having the boat prept for paint. Great channel👍

Andy, for sure more of these. Excellent information! I've never been partial to 'live stream' discussions - would prefer to see you on a zoom call with these guys perhaps monthly or quarterly, focused on a few specific areas suggested by your subscribers, then post the zoom call. That way the videos can be really detailed and focused. For example, right now I am laying down some non-skid. I'd love to see a 15 min vid on favorite hacks for non-skid from them... taping techniques - sharp corners vs round, to flatten or not, spray vs roll, mixed in vs broadcast. That sort of thing. Maybe another on troubleshooting common problems. Thanks for this content.

Good Educational video. I am overdue for repainting the topsides and need this information on products and technics from professionals. A yard could do the work but I need it done right and not just done. Apparently as a kid I told my dad, "If you don't do it right the first time when will you have time to make it right?" It's still true today even if I'm the one doing the work.

Fascinating conversation and I’d like to see and hear more of this kind of discussion. Often I’m in similar conversations here at the marina but the quality of the advice is extremely suspect. It’s different listening to three professionals.

I’ll consume knowledge anyway you give it. Always nice to hear from experts. You said the video cut off at 30 minutes, did you make the rookie mistake of recording the audio into the video? If so, always record audio to a separate device and sync in post (that’s the purpose of the “clapper” you see on Hollywood sets). If not, then you can use some B roll of you rolling paint / primer onto a boat and use the discussion as a voice over. And/ or create a podcast from it. The video portion of this discussion is irrelevant because all the info is in the audio.

I was an early user of this product having done my 45' yacht with incredible results. Now im doing a friends boat and the rolling additive is a thing ive found the rolling additive can fisheye. Ive even cut the rolling additive down to half and it still doesnt seem to flatten as well....any ideas/thoughts?

Fisheyes are the result of surface contamination, don't really see a way the additive could be the culprit. A good cleaning method is to use Comet cleaner to scrub the surface. Do not let the cleaner dry on the surface, so scrub and while still wet rinse thoroughly. The rinsing water should sheet off rather than form channels. Once it sheets then let dry and prior to applying material give a solvent wipe down with the cleaner / de-greaser. Always wear gloves to avoid any skin contact with the clean surface (skin oils will also cause fisheye). The paint itself should be mixed 2:1:1 (equal volumes of both converter and R5015 reducer). If you're still getting eye's then it likely comes down to contamination of the mix cup or even the roller :-) Hope this helps!
