Thanks again for watching. I will upload a workout video today. I will put it in my Starter playlist, funny thing is, that I am a starter at workouts. That was my first Workout on Rouvy.....ever. Went really well, very intuitive. Definitely doing more of these.
Absolutely brilliant. Nowhere else have I seen this level of detai, especially the explnation of ghost and virtual riders. I can now understand what is going on, well in the ride bit - there is so much more. I have learnt so much already i am just starting to understand this strange world.. I hope you have done more. Thank you
Hi Penelope, thank you for commenting. Glad the video helped you a bit, I was planning on doing a bit of an update on these, there have been some changes to the platform but most of the Ghost and Virtual Partner stuff should all be the same. I did just upload a video today explaining how the group rides work. Kind of like a "ride along" because it is one that I did yesterday with a group, so I just added some tips and stuff. I just hit video 98 today the big 100 is coming!
Really enjoy these vids. As an ex Zwift rider, I am looking for another platform. These starter guide video's are going to make this jump so much easier to understand. It's good to see about the 'how to' on the Rouvy set up, it just makes my job of connecting and riding set ups sooooo much easier (you've done all the hard work - so I don't have to play around with stuff to see how this platform works). Thank you, I know they may be very basic but they are so helpful.
Hi Brett, I’m glad you find them useful, it can be hard to transition away from a different platform. The same but so different at the same time. I rode Zwift for 4 years, made the switch and Rouvy is the thing for me. Love all the routes and climbs. I think there will be a couple more parts to this starter guide. Check out my latest on Rouvy Workouts. Thanks for watching!
Enjoying the ‘Getting Started’ vids. Waiting for my smart trainer, then signing up. If it’s not obvious on the Rouvy platform, will you do a vid on searching and filtering for rides. Both AR and just ‘map’. I’m in Ontario Canada, and love to start here, before heading virtually around the world.
Hi Peter, I think you will love Rouvy once you get on and explore. Yep, I am going to do a map route search video this week. I will show you how I use it to find cool routes. I think I prefer that way because I study the maps, look at the topography, go down some historical rabbit holes. Coming soon I promise. Can't wait to see you onboard, jump into the Discord channel, super friendly, think of it as just a bunch of people chatting(text) about bikes the whole time......heavien
Just started with Rouvy the last week as it seemed much improved from what I saw a few years ago. I Got fed up with Zwift some time ago and preferred the 'real' video of the BigRingVR and Open Road apps. I'll still use those, but I think Rouvy will be the main goto indoor app now. Am I right in thinking that my completed route times don't appear in the route records or last passes list because I rode the route as 'Just Ride'? I rode at 100% reality but with ghost riders and drafting. Also, the Rouvy Companion app is better than the Zwift one. I like the snapshot functionality. 🙂
I know there are some issues right now with finding your times on the latest versions of the app. Got a work around for you.......go to "my.rouvy.com"......login, go to your activities, all activities and it will direct you to the "old look" webiste. All of your stuff is there. I did a ride yesterday, same way you did. Just Ride, at 100%(always), with Virtual Partners(Me x4) and drafting, all my times show up from every pass I a have ever made.. Thanks for watching, I will blast out a short vid very soon showing you how I do this.
Really awesome instructional vlog. I did want to ask how do you change the camera angle of the ride to change the view of the rider?....Is that available or is ground level the only selection?....Thanks for the great introduction to Roy
Hello, glad the video helped you a bit. Camera angle......You can change it in the settings at any point before of during your ride. Click on the gear icon and you will see options for "Me, near, middle, and Far". "Me" would be your POV while Far would have the camera trailing you. You won't be able to have the camera look at you from the side or from above, except for one option and that is in OMNIMODE routes. This gives you more of a video directors looks with multiple camera angles. Hope that helps you.
Hi Pete, hope the vids help you learn more. Jump into the trial and give it a shot, I don't think you will regret it. Tons of Challenges, and so many routes to do. Merry Christmas
HI, if you mean that you want to take screenshots while on your ride, why yes you can. Download the Rouvy Companion, it works in conjunction with the software and has a "Take snapshot" button on the companion app.
Using Wahoo Kickr and Apple TV, I have been unable to connect both Wahoo cadence and heart rate at same time. In other words, I would like to be able to see my cadence and heart rate while I ride. Any suggestions?
Hi Steve, I asked the hivemind over in the DIscord group as there are quite a few Kickr/Apple TV users. Some of the older Kickrs didnt provide cadence, which model/age is yours? Also remember that ANT+ does not work with AppleTV, you need to connect HR and cadence via Bluetooth. Connect those sensors to Rouvy via Bluetooth. If you need more help from the real experts jump into the Discord group, link at top of the page, all the info you would ever need there, better than going the support route
Ok I’ve signed up for an account on Rouvy. Downloaded the companion app. It asks me to “Please connect the main app”. How? And it crashes every time. iOS phone what’s up with this?
Ok it sounds like you just have the companion app installed. Check for them main Rouvy app, that will run everything. The Companion allows you to view map, take screenshots and a few extras. You need the main app from the Apple store
