Dan... Steve K from PA. Drove up with my son and picked up the new Baja 45cc. Thing is BADASS. Completed break-in without any issues. Installed Hostile nightmare tires. All I can say is....WOW The Losi 5ive and HPI both with OBR g340 full mod are now sitting on the sidelines 😁. This is one serious machine been in the hobby 25+ years and this industry / hobby has come a long way thanks to people like you. Thanks for the awesome welcome at the shop. I'm thinking about getting this engine and running it with a 20 /54 I want decent speed I still want to be able to pop the front wheels up what would you recommend for your engine cuz I really want to get to 65 70mph or should I just go with like a 3-speed
Too be honest unlike a electric that has too much power a 12hp motor is more than enough for this one while other cars are bigger and have 4wd and are much heavier a 45 is plenty too be honest lol stick a better spark plug on it aswel maybe mess around porting it grab a lighter flywheel maybe a lower rpm clutch and then it will be uncontrollable lol
hi, i have this rovan engine mounted on losi 5ive-t I have never been able to fuel it .. have there been cases of problematic engines or is mine mine? I can either keep it fat and at the top it engulfs, too thin and goes out --- I can't get it running I'm engine!
Awsome guys!! That engine is a animal! I'm gunna buy this engine someday for like a "daily driver" sort of thing but it's still a absolute monster for a motor of this price.

Great stuff i'm buying one for my baja, it is unfortunate that you had to actually do a video on the new car due to all of the slander on a project that was not even tested and or completed yet. Your video shows otherwise there is a lesson to learn hear don't jump the gun just because you are trying to be the first one out with a product before the actual company release the product just because you can obtain it, you might not be getting the same quality product!
Yea, manufactures keep fine tuning products to improve them, love that this engine bolts right in with no mounting kit needed. Keep in mind you will need a new pipe (I will have them when I have the engines available) The exhaust port is bigger on these and header mounting bolts are further apart
Dan..... MORE People need to see this kind of testing and Development!!! 👍👍 When AliExpress and the other Chinese Distributors basically DUMPED this 45 on the Market last Year.... They did it with NO SUPPORT, no Parts, no NECESSARY Parts (like the widened Exhaust Header that it NEEDS!), not even a freaking Manual !!! Nope, they just shoved it out, and essentially told everyone "Here's a new affordable BIG Engine for you!" That was IT. People got them, with NO IDEA, couldn't Tune it, couldn't seal the Exhaust, some TORE APART their stock Plastic Gears - and "IT'S THE ENGINE'S FAULT!! IT'S A PIECE OF SHIT!!" That's the point Elite Rc was making. You were given an uphill battle, with a Motor with a fresh Bad Reputation - that you had NOTHING to do with. what do you think the hp with be on something like this? what carb and pipe will work best on the X2 platform? still haven't picked a power plant for my roller yet...
Hi Frank, I would estimate around 5HP but the torque is what makes this engine great, I think for the KM X2 it would be perfect for helping that heavy truck accelerate. I should have 45cc engines and matching pipes to fit the X2 in mid August.

Hi there what price range would this custom pipe for this 45cc engine cost? estimates Also will this 45 motor fit in a redcat rampage MT? I see the pullstart sticks out by a good amount and if you find pictures on the MT the chassis would it fit in?
The Baja pipe will be around $80 and the LOSI 5IVE-T 45cc pipe is about $120 . The 45cc should fit in the redcat, the new ones will have a lower profile pull start, not that fat one in the video.

Hi, It's 18/56 I say it in the end of the video. It can turn much faster gearing with no problems, I tried 24/50 and no more wheelies but top speed was great.

There both great but the regular Baja has lots of different bodies/roll cage options and you can convert it to even a on road car or off road truck. The Shorty is limited to what you can do if you want to change the look of it.
Rovan RC Thanks a lot because I saw another video with someone with the 45cc And the standard header like for a 30.5 did not line up with that bolt pattern I was just wondering so you did not have to do any modifying? And are you running stock gearing?
Some pipes will not fit but some already have elongated holes to be more universal. The pipe I used in this video was a Rovan prototype pipe made with a header to fit good on this engine. I will have them in stock in Mid August. I was running 18/56 metal gears for the video. Thanks
Rovan RC I would like to see this engine in a dBXL. Because the guy who had it in a 5T! His Engine didn’t sound as good as yours and the video was not impressive at all. Even in your Baja I would think that it should have a lot more wheel spin just pulling a 2wd load on it. Because I have a 30.5 fm pulling 4wd and I can barely keep it straight when I full throttle it off the line. But I’m still Interested in this engine
It may have not been tuned good or the pipe was not a good match for it. I think it would be a great engine for and 4WD. It just seems to put the power to the ground because of the torque and not just rev out and spin the wheels so you may see some improved acceleration. Keep in mind without gearing it a little faster then stock top speed will not be any faster then with the smaller engines, so depending on what your goal is gearing is key. I'll make another video with my 24/50 gear set in it soon.

Yea, it is insane, I can't believe how even at a very low RPM and 1/2 throttle it sometimes still wheelies, crazy how it puts the torque to the ground! Has good high RPM power also but may not rev quite as high as the smaller engines, Rovan is making pipes that fit it but the flange will be too big for the 36cc but I'm sure you can make it work. The 45cc feels like it will be a great engine for the heavy LOSI/ Rovan LT, KM X2 trucks. Hopefully some aftermarket pipes will show up for it as well.

It's like an old Big Block Chevy, Dan. It probably won't Rev like a OBR or Gizmo...... But then it doesn't HAVE TO! It's a STUMP PULLER!! It can have Speed by using HIGH Gearing, that would Bog and Burn Out smaller, lesser Engines. 👊👍👍 Carmine 💥⛽

On most pipes you can just oblong the holes in the pipe to make it work, maybe add a washer, also take off as much you can on the inside of the pipe to make it as big as possible and that should get you going
Some pipes will bolt right up to it, the exhaust port on the pipe will be small but it will work like the KM THOR pipe, the holes are already elongated on it, it bolts right up.
too bad driveshafts in this buggy snaps even with 29cc. Not saying it's shit, but already broke 2pins in hexes and one in halfshaft. They seems to be made of decent steel quality but too brittle, there is no wear on them but just shatter.
Yea, there fun for awhile but just put faster gearing and they go away and you get great top speed! This video was just to show the torque that the 45cc has.
These engines are monsters for sure! I have 2 now and videos on my channel for people to see the performance if they were on the fence about giving this beast a chance! My videos will definitely make them a believer🔥🔥. I’m about to purchase a 3rd one and a have extra cylinder that I’m porting now so I can compare the gains. Should be interesting. This engine has tons of potential.
Top speed is slower with stock 17/57 gears then the g320 because the 45cc does not rev as high but if you gear it fast the torque from the 45cc will let it go faster then a stock g320
Hope it lasts. I'm not even through with the breakin cycles, and already replaced the battery, stripped the cheap spur, and the clutch is clicking! Did I mention all of this during breakin? Never again.... Watch out gas family. Watch out!
It was initially Released TOO EARLY! Dan isn't going to let this go without some testing and Tuning. ..... AliExpress and the other Chinese "Big Box" outlets just sent it out - MONTHS ago - without even so much as an Exhaust Header that FITS the oversized Exhaust Port!!! THEY have been VERY problematic, and sadly, are going to leave an indelible mark on the whole Engine - no matter HOW GOOD it gets. .......... And running base Stock PLASTIC Gears (not even the Nylon Upgrade), on an Engine with THIS MUCH TORQUE...... *Of COURSE it's going to SHRED the Stock Gears and Clutch!!!!* 😱😱😵 Anybody who's even done basic maintenance, KNOWS that! This will NEVER be an Engine for the "RTR Crowd".......
