I've ben considering picking one of these up simply for the size. I sold my Baja 5T long ago for many reasons but I do miss 2 stroke gasser. I loved how "small" this baja was even though I still hate the platform and I'm gald I didn't bite. I'd love to see that nitro GT2 ripping around though!!
@@bigmess51 Also, I do agree with you when it comes to the price. I really don't get how this particular Rovan is structured price wise compared to what is available. Would make more sense if these were priced around $450.
Actually in my opinion, the q baja is one of the best values. Others seem to heavy to be good cornering or even accelerating. Even with bigger engines, they still look slow. While the baja, provides a lighter and more fun wheelie machine. So for that i purchase the biggest engine baja q, and now im waiting for the battery to arrive
You obviously got a 1 off bad motor the 29cc screams if you check out every other shorty Baja they all lift up and scream either that you got a bad motor I would first be checking your carb that's what I would be checking if you are not getting much power
Evolve Rc if you watch the video you will see I swapped the bad 29cc out, the problem was a combo of a bad motor , clutch bell was polished inside so I’ve roughed it up, and 2 of the diff out drive bearings were seized.
@@bigmess51 looks like you just had really bad luck with your shorty but nothing that can not be fixed by what you said you should of just asked for a swap from Rovan would of been less if a headache for you as it would of come under warranty for a defected car
Your's was obviously defective mine runs like a top wheelies all day fast & snappy throttle response way more fun than my KM 5B which I hardly use now...
How's the steering on it? I have an FG marder 26cc the steering on it is very quick I heard steering on Baja's is fairly unresponsive thanks in advance
Is that a Kyosho Inferno GT2 behind your Baja? with the vitaphone decal? If so, can you make a video on that car? Those are my favorite, ~ nitro anyway
Hi good video I’m looking to get into 5th scale which rovan/king motor baja would you recommend please or maybe I should get a genuine used hpi baja? Thanks in advance
@@ejkk9513 he said it was uneventful footage, that it wouldn’t even wheelie and then it wheelied every time he blipped the throttle. Either way though I drove the one I got for the first time a couple hours after watching his video and it hauls ass! It will pull the front up at will so he either did something wrong or is full of bs.
@@StoneFPV- He probably got a defective one. Every single video I've seen with this one has popped wheelies. This is probably what I'm going to get when I can afford to spend this much on a toy. Hopefully it's a good one and will be durable. It's a modified HPI Baja clone. Just not as well made. These clones caused HPI to stop making their's. At half the price... it's hard to compete.
@@ejkk9513 I picked mine up the other day off Facebook marketplace for $300. I have 1/14 scale that I spent more on lol! It looked brand new. The guy said he ran one tank threw it after break in and it’s sat since. After watching this video I wasn’t expecting a whole lot being my first 1/5 scale and gas. I figured it’d be kinda slow and unexciting compared to my 6s kraton exb but boy was I wrong! Don’t get me wrong I’m sure there’s a big difference between a $2-3000 one and a $500 clone but after driving it once I think even at full price it would’ve been well worth it for the price. Now I understand why so many people love them lol!
@@StoneFPV- Damn... I would snag one up at that price easily. Rovan wants over 600 with tax but no shipping costs. The good thing about these is their parts are interchangeable with every single clone and original HPI Baja.
