To start a gas engine: first push the prime bulb on the carb to stage fuel and build pressure. Than use the choke and slowly pull your pullstarter a couple of times to prime the engine. Than with the choke still engaged quickly pull until you hear the engine pop. Than open the choke again and pull the pullstarter another couple of times quickly. It should start now if your low and high speed needles are set correctly and you have the idle screw set correctly as well. Good luck!
I don't know if you tuned the engine on the right point, but I think that you need to open the idle a little bit more. For those guys that maybe wondering if this toy it's good, yes it is just about like the losi 5 t, specially the engine 20% or 30% better then losi. Keep in mind people that these toys r cheaper because they pay cheap labor to build them not necessarily because of the product, at the end no matter what brand you'll buy but you will end up upgrading electronics, plastic parts, etc. I paid for mine $750 when they were on sale. I did upgrade almost 40% of it and it is almost as good as a losi or even better. For the cost of the toy to the upgrades so far I'm been spending around $1400. For that price the losi it's not ready to run yet mine is. I will post soon a video of my LT with all the upgrades. Nothing personal with losi I just realized that with that price I was gonna upgrade tons of things on the LT. Regardless of what brand people prefer, it's all about the hobby, cheers rc community and keep up the fun of rcs
Sorry, didn't realize how out of control I was by asking. There are lots of vids of people demonstrating these that are pulling the rope excessively and I was trying to understand why.
+Sheikh Hassan // Before you make your decision, visit the Largescaleforums and RCtech. There are many issues with the clones, poor quality control, differentials, diff cases, cheap cast dog bones and drive shafts. Dont get blinded by all the upgrades offered on KM and Rovan sites. If you mechanically inclined, then go for it, but if its your first RTR 1/5 and have no experience, go Losi.
yes it is ! so far I have just upgraded the pull start,.stock one was pretty crappy for engagement. Other then that for the money I am very happy with it so far. Now that I am familiar with how to start it , starts up 3rd pull !
start with choke on till will rev and die then choke off 3 pulls and should run ;O) How is it I'm considering this over the Losi is the 30.5cc worth it over stock 26cc? Cheerz __``o=o¬ __
This was my first start up .now that it has been ran it starts up 1st or second pull with the proper choke procedure you mentioned ! I think having the larger motor is a plus, I think for the price over the Losi you cant go wrong, very solid unit !!
So much for breaking the motor in... Not very smart... Kept priming the fuel while motor was running...wtf... Didn't even let the motor warm up and messing with the needles I guess you never heard about a break-in process.
