It was a little tense. Was happy once It started to fire and knew I had the distributor in correctly. Lol. 👍👍👍

Well done on getting him up and running.sounds well.i think you done really well to get it up and running and only have one hopefully fairly easy to sort oil leak.good on you👍👍

New switch on order to sort the leak but was great that it fired straight up, more or less. 👍👍

Nice to hear it running. It's the electric oil pressure transmitter that's leaking.

Happy that it's running now and have ordered a new transmitter. Think it might of maybe got knocked while installing the engine. 👍👍

Happy days indeed. That was a pretty quick and painless start up and sounds really quiet. Better that the oil switch failed now.

It was all very uneventful really. Lol. Definitely a good thing the oil switch leaked now and not out on the road. Think maybe it got knocked when installing the engine and box. 👍👍

Congratulations Stu, that heart stopping moment when you're thinking will it, won't it. What a great success and if the small oil leak from a failed switch is all you have it's easy to resolve although an unwanted further expense. Fantastic milestone as you say, can't wait to hear it in the raw.

Cheers Dad. Was definitely a great relief to get it run up without any major issues. Will change the oil switch and check for leaks but then probably won't run it again until its finished so it can be run in .👍

So pleased for you! You’ve done a really great job getting that lump to run so well first time up!! But whatsmore, thank goodness the clutch appears good, just hope it has no nasty surprises. The engine will be wonderful when fully tuned. Guess its the start of its beautification next! What a car this is going to be!

Was definitely a relief that it started OK with good oil pressure and temperature staying steady from the off. Yes on to the bodywork next so not sure how much I will film of that but will definitely keep everyone updated. 👍

Congrats on progress so far. The first time I started my engine after changing the hydraulic tappets it sounded like a ton of ball bearings being tipped down a drain. Had me worried until it quieted down..

I think maybe priming the pump first was a help. Was definitely not running on 8 to start with though. 👍👍
