We have been to Victoria Falls from Pretoria in 2010,in 2011 we went from Cape Town to Dar ES Salaam, two years later we went from Pretoria to Swakopmund and back again. Totally we made 8 trips with Rovos, each one in a Royal Suite. The management and their professional staff fully deserve congratulations! 👍👍
My husband and I have been on two trips. Both times we have invited our UK friends to join us. One couple have been on most luxury train trips across the world and they have said this was the best experience by far. If we could have afforded a third trip, I would not hesitate to go. Thank you, Rovos for an unforgettable experience.
@@RovosRail1989 I am your passenger in June from Capitol Park to Cape Town for my birthday. Can't wait, counting the nights. Iris did my booking and confirmation. 🚦🛣🚞😀🍾🍾🥰
My wife and I enjoyed the Rovos Rail trip from Capetown to Pretoria in August 1978. This was one of the highlights of our 3 months round the world trip to mark retirement. The Blue Train looks kind of ordinary by comparison. The feature of the use of original steam locomotives for some parts of the journey were very nostalgic having been ferried by "steam" during and until well after the second world war in the UK. Not sure how our travel agent was aware of Rovos here in Australia but we are certainly glad she suggested this very welcome add on. This may have been part of a package which included hotels in Capetown and a two night stay at the Michael Angelo in J'burg.....one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at. We love to replay the video tapes we shot. Having just read the history of the company we are so glad that the Vos family persisted to make the dream come true and for us, the opportunity to share it also. Magical is all I can say. I was very lucky to meet Rohan and the family many years ago when i was a fireman on the steam locos in Germiston. Then in 1991 or so I actually worked his 19D loco 2702 with my driver John Gilberthorpe from Kimberley to De Aar. There at De Aar John and I were invited into the dining car to have dinner with the well dressed guests. Here we sat in out coal and oil stained overalls between all the well dressed shirt & tie guests. We sure looked out of place but it was an honour to be there. I really would like to meet Rohan and the family again so might just have to get out there again and join the train. Congratulations to you all at Rovos Rail for 30 years of great work
I was on the trip from 14 June to 16 June 2019 and it was unforgettable. It was a dream come true. The Rovos Team on board - excellent. No detail is too much for them. Senele and Team you are a 5 star Team. You have done the Pride of Africa justice. As an ex Witbanker, who know who this ex Witbanker is, a proudly South African salute!! Thanks Anthea for the strong woman behind Rohan and thank you to your beautiful family. God bless you.
Obrigado, boas viagens.
