A scintillatingly brilliant cinematic masterpiece. The quality and production is immaculate. I enjoyed the atmospheric music. Congratulations on this production which reflects the grandeur of Rovos Rail, its delicious meals, fun, and the majestic landscape, flora and fauna that is South Africa and Zimbabwe! Hwange reminded me of the Safari Lodge Hotel where I was able to observe wildlife at the watering hole while enjoying a meal a couple years ago. I have a question for you: what photographic equipment do you use?
Blue train had better food, drinks and service. Also loved having a full size bath on the train. Rovos the cabin was bigger and bed more comfortable. The trip we took on Rovos was better as we had a longer trip and the stop over in Hwange was great.
Thanks for sharing your wonderful experience. Always want to travel to S Africa and definitely experience this train. However heard so many horror stories about personal safety in S Africa. What has been your experience and tips on planning a safe trip?
We live in South Africa so know exactly the ins and outs of the country. Like any country in the world, you got to be careful when traveling. There is unfortunately a lot of crime in SA. So you have to be extra careful here. But booking things through a reputable travel agency should make things a bit smoother, as you can book your transfers and accomodation and know that things should be ok. We generally use things like Uber to get around,and personally haven't had problems with that, but there have been reports that some people had problems. I would not suggest public transport. Either private transfers or Uber or renting a car.
