Rowan Robertson is one of my favorite guitar players. He made an album with "Dio" called, "Lock Up The Wolves." He is currently in a band called "DC4." This is one of my favorite guitar solos that I ever saw.
Shame that Ronnie didn't make another record with Rowan. And, there is one, supposedly, or at least part of one, but it's up to Ronnie's money grubbing widow to someday release it, which will probably be never. Just like 14 years after Dime's murder, we are still awaiting Damageplan, part 2, which probably would never have happened with Vinnie. Now that he's gone, (R.I.P.), maybe Rita will have a say. Who knows ? But Rowan, for as young as he was on LUTW, had such a great signature sound. I was sold instantly. Great guitar player, who never got his due, IMO.
Like him or not, can't deny yngwie's influence on majority of guitarists of metal/rock. vinnie moore never mentions yngwie as his influence (i know they're peers), but then he wrote that "Daydream" song that sounded like a ripoff of Blackstar. at least Tony Macalpine never wrote something like that.
I really hate these "X guitarist is better than Y guitarist" comments intended to stir up conflict. It's just childish. I mean I could say something like "Bach is better than John Lee Hooker" and that would sound just as random, pointless and idiotic as this comment
It sounds like he might be playing his guitar on a Marshall JCM800 or Marshall JCM2000 guitar amp. That is just a guess. I am not 100% sure though. I hope that this helped answer your question.
