As the Olympics got underway in earnest, it was a busy day on the water for Team Ireland, so Mikey Stafford is joined by 2012 canoe slalom Olympian Hannah Craig and RTÉ rowing analyst Tim Harnedy.
Hannah was at Vaires-sur-Marne Nautical Stadium to see Liam Jegou squeak into the canoe slalom semi-finals after a frustrating couple of runs in the heats.
Hannah explains just what happened and why Jegou has serious aspirations to advance from Monday's semis, while she also talks up the prospects of young Madison Corcoran, who failed to progress from her own heat.
Meanwhile Tim raves about the performance of Philip Doyle and Daire Lynch in the double sculls heats and looks ahead to what could be a glorious regatta for Team Ireland.
The defending champions Paul O'donovan and Fintan McCarthy go in their opening round tomorrow but, according to Tim, they are far from the only medal contenders in green.
Finally, Mikey shares the story of the New Zealand eight who won gold at the 1972 Games in Munich - a tale that involves 'dream kitchens' and beer-guzzling mind games.
