They're Gods!" My late husband Rodney introduced me to Roxy Music on November 8, 1975, I was already a Bowie Fan. It was the first time I heard "If There Is Something" My eyes teared up with this scene, as we used to do a similar act to the song "If There Is Something" ❤ There are so many Roxy Music songs to suggest. You've got a taste of their sound. Try "Oh Yeah" another song from "Flesh and Blood

Based on the original recording date info of 18 July, I would have been a day shy of turning a full two months old, and in the midst of my very first summer when this ultimately hit the airwaves; a world and an ocean away from my remote suburban outpost in the wilds of the Pacific Northwest United States, near the shores of the Salish Sea. It'd be roughly another 13-14 years or so by the time my juvenile ears were developed enough to begin appreciating RM/BF, and I'm still making new discoveries. 30-plus years on, and some of us are still futilely striving to be anywhere near as talented or debonair as Mr. Ferry - an inspiration to us young teens of the '80s who are now undeniably advancing to the virtually inescapable fate of middle age.

Glorious .... David Bowie wrote us a Song and Mott the Hoople sang it to us - then us Young Dudes got Roxy Music .... blistering LIVE in 1972 - RAW + mental .. we were Dudes we were HIGH ... glad we were there - glad Roxy were there 💘 Everything turned around when Brian left . He was an integral part of the first manifestation . It was well Cool checkin' him on Stage twiddling Knobs on his Synthesiser with the Ostrich feathers going all over the Shop . Boys started wearing Make Up over nite and Bowie hadn't been on TOTP with Starman yet ... it was Marc Bolan opened the DOOR x Oh forgot to say Lindsay Kemp in Wales was making something , that being a Scientist , he couldn't class as 100% BUT it was as PURE as dammit .... We really did shout " Drop Acid NOT Bombs " ... lot's and lot's of Shenanigans xxx Hey .... I was a Stonehenge Wally too ... I'm only saying that cause there aren't too many of us left above ground Viva Gong !!!

The Oboe, an infrequently used instrument in Rock Music. Mike Oldfield employed one. I think Hawkwind too !!! Maybe Soft Machine and Gong ???

I like Manzanares' guitar playing, but David O'List has a certain something extra, as heard on the first Peel session from early '72 ... too bad he got kicked out of the band.

Are you sure it's 18 July? BBC Peel archive states 18 February. Broadcast day matches. edit : Peel fandom page also states 18 July, so I guess it's 2 out of 3. ;-)
