By the way, when I saw the episode for the first time I was very upset because they had changed a lot from the novel, but the author participated in the creation of this episode and with his statements, I think I understand that what he wanted to do with this episode was to use it to filter out the fake fans. Or maybe I'm just overthinking it.
Interesting. I would be curious as to hear from the author to see what the thoughts were behind the changes. I don’t necessarily buy that theory but it’s interesting. Clearly, I think he wanted to shift more of the blame on Rudeus himself or at least have him take accountability of the situation rather than be tricked.
In real life there are a lot of people who have multiple partners (movie stars, rich people, powerful politicians, etc.) but people never complain or realize it.
If Rudy had listened to the Man-God Roxy would be dead. Yeah, while the act wasn't the best thing morally, it did save Rudys life, he hadn't eaten in almost two weeks, and was drinking just enough water to stay barely hydrated. Rudy was headed for a painful death by starvation and he would've not returned to his family at all. That would have made the journey back for everyone else a lot more dangerous too as only Rudy could dispel the massive sandstorm that ravages the desert.

Well it is what it is. "This is not the way to do this" it is a way to do this, a very questionable way to be shure but an effeective way no less "Sylphie deseve better" yes. yes she does, thing is she dosn't want "better" she loves Rudy, and that comes with a LOT of bagage. "This feels so forced" the show was gonna go for this from the strart. But yes the episode feels a little forced they left out a LOT of the context of how this happend, like Roxy's reaction and mindset when she realized Rudeus is married and where did she get the idea that sleeping with some one woud help him get over the pain of loss. Roxy was a LOT more agresive in the anime that in the novels, in the novels she was honestly hoping to chear him up, she tought there was no way Rudy woud be interested in her that way, "she has a huge complex with her apearance" but when she saw her chance she jumped on it on impulse babling a lot of nonsence out of nervousness excitement and yes guilt... Elinalise felt very conflicted about it. Sylphie is her grand daughter but Roxy is her best friend, the travel from Rapan to sharia takes a Month she had a lot of time to think about it. And this is the conclusion she came with. And the other MAJOR change from the novels is that even after hearing Elinalise out he was still gonna let Roxy go, he made a promise to Sylphie and he may have broke it in a moment of weakness but he was not gonna keep doing it, thats when Elinalise told Rudeus that Roxy havn't have her period and what was he gonna do about it? he said he was gonna take responsability. THIS WAS THE REASON HE FINALLY CHANGED HIS MIND IN THE NOVELS
in novel rudy just fell like get forced to married roxy becouse guilty for fake roxy pregnant. director chage it to be more rudy sincere really wan to married roxy becouse love , i think this better outcome
@@meetup9408 I see the "she is Pregnant so I must take responsability" As a justification for him to do what he arready wants to do but cudn't bring himself to do becouse he dosn't want to betrayl Sylphie more than he allready has. With Roxy pregnant he thinks it is his responsability to at least try. People some times act like this.
I wish we got more of this context in the anime. I think some of those details would’ve helped. I don’t like Roxy and Rudy at all but it doesn’t make me dislike the anime. The characters are real because they make questionable decisions and that’s what I can appreciate. It’s more a me problem than a mushoku tensei problem. It definitely was foreshadowed and telegraphed but I still don’t like it. I wish we got to see more of the guilt and those things. Leaving out the Elinalise stuff definitely pushes it more on Rudy than Elinalise. We will see how that goes moving forward. I prospects the comment my friend! Sylphiette best girl forever
I think what they did in episode 23 was increase the drama, instead of toning it down like they do in the novel, and spread the blame to both sides. I think the author knows that no matter what Mushoku does, it won't be as popular as (Jujutsu Kaisen, My Hero Academia, Naruto), which is a shame because in my opinion, Mushoku's story is a better story than those animes.
