The Ed Sullivan Show was a television variety program that aired on CBS from 1948-1971. For 23 years it aired every Sunday night and played host to the world's greatest talents. The Ed Sullivan Show is well known for bringing rock n' roll music to the forefront of American culture through acts like Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones. The entertainers each week ranged from comedians like Joan Rivers and Rodney Dangerfield, to Broadway stars Julie Andrews and Richard Burton, to pop singers such as Bobby Darin and Petula Clark. It also frequently featured stars of Motown such as The Supremes, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder and The Jackson 5. The Ed Sullivan Show was one of the only places on American television where such a wide variety of popular culture was showcased and its legacy lives on to this day.

I'm 60 years young and have heard many string artists play. However, none have ever been remotely close to the shear mastery of Roy Clark. Honestly, I don't believe anyone ever will be.

When I was a child, my dad and I watched Roy Clark at the state fair. He pointed to me and told me to name any animal in the zoo. As I named them, he made his guitar sound like each and every one. Been a huge fan of this amazing man ever since.

Musicians, and those who have the "ear" for catching all the insane intricacies involved within this phenomenal piece of musical genius, I truly feel for you, and i know just how disheartened you have become throughout the years due to the seemingly forgotten desires of real art in music, such as is depicted in this performance. If you feel this way, let me give you some advice that may help alleviate your situation and reestablish your faith in musicians of this day and age. Go into the settings of your youtube, spotify, fb, etc apps, and delete all your stored information pertaining to such things as like songs, videos, and so forth. Then go into the advertisement settings and reset or delete all of the saved crap in there as well. This will reset the algorithms back to default, which basically means back to brand new, and see what kind of new stuff the apps recommend for your viewing and listening pleasures. Youre welcome.

I was wondering why the guitar had some twang in the tone which is weird because the Gibson is set in the rhythm pickup position. The reason? He’s not plugged in! He’s playing alright but the guitar is played as an acoustic and is heard in its natural woody tone. The hot mics were overhead right out of sight I’m sure. Rest In Peace Roy! What a talent

Alvis Edgar Owens Jr. (August 12, 1929[1] - March 25, 2006),[2] known professionally as Buck Owens, was an American musician, singer, songwriter, and band leader. He was the lead singer for Buck Owens and the Buckaroos, which had 21 No. 1 hits on the Billboard country music chart. He pioneered what came to be called the Bakersfield sound, named in honor of Bakersfield, California, Owens's adopted home and the city from which he drew inspiration for what he preferred to call "American music".[3] FROM WIKIPEDIA
