Roy DeMeo Forced To Kill Best Friend To Stop War Between Mafia And Colombian Cartel 

My father disappeared in December 1973 his name was John De Mello. He was involved with Roy DeMeo. My father owned a roofing business in Brooklyn Anchor Roofing & waterproofing. When I was a little boy I remember riding in my father‘s work truck and he pulled up to the Gemini lounge. He brought me inside. He must’ve had a meeting with Roy. Because I remember Roy went behind the bar and gave me a Soda. I was born in March 1967. From what I understand because nobody ever really talked about it when I was younger. My father was set to testify in front of the grand jury about something. Not sure what. I remember after my father disappeared NYPD detectives, FBI and IRS we’re all around my moms house questioning her. I do remember there was a lot of vehicles parked in yard at my Dads house. I didn’t realize at the time they were stolen, they would change the Vin numbers and sell the vehicles. So I guess my father was in pretty deep. We lived in Brooklyn neighborhood Gerritsen Beach. I will also remember my father parked on the side of the building And we walked into the Gemini lounge. I watch your videos all the time I think they’re really interesting I haven’t been back to Brooklyn since I was 14. I was hoping one day you would drive through Gerritsen Beach one day. My father parked his truck exactly where you parked your Ford pick up. I just noticed that in the video. And then we walked into the Gemini lounge I was a little boy.

This has become my absolute favorite channel.

Besides the story really enjoy the drive. I read about this in a book years ago. Its a trip to see the actual location and street, I always thought it was in some seedy area but it looks like a residential area.

The fact he was a loving DAD showed he wasn’t a complete devil but his acts were seriously vicious without regard…..sociopath/psychopath is immaterial in his case! HE WAS CERTIFIED CRAZY!!! Thanks Mooney, great vid as always👍👍😊

Good to see the grill back in shape. In the last 1 or 2 videos, the right rear top fender had an oops on it. Didn't notice it this time. When you speed the Ford to 200+ MPH, it sounds just like a "Lamborghini"!

Excellent work like always Mooney Dash Cam. A+ The .45ACP machine gun more than likely was a Ingram ( Powder Springs or Cobray even ) MAC-10 .45 machine gun. The body is about the size of a " Brick " with a mag stick sticking down from the pistol grip. They are small and compact compared to a WW2 Tommy or a Grease gun and very popular back in the 70s and 80s even the 90s. If you watched the " Cocaine Cowboys " Movie documentaries, The infamous Dadeland Mall shootout in south Miami happened the next month or two after Chris was killed in 79 so if the Columbians up from Miami was part of the Griselda Blanco / Raffa crew which was associated with Pablo Escolar and the Ochoa brothers Medellin Cartel... it would of been very bad for the NYC Mob.

You would think that after a while word on the street would get out and that going to the Gemini lounge is just not all that safe.....

If I'm not mistaken, I'm pretty sure that I read in Murder Machine that after Roy shot Chris, and didn't kill him, in a partially sitting position (he was on one knee) and looking up at Roy, Chris said, " Why?" and that's the reason Roy couldn't shoot him again. Roy was already heartbroken to have to shoot Chris in the first place and having to finish the job after Chris said that to him was just too much and quickly realizing the situation, Senter stepped in to finish the job. If I didn't read it in Murder Machine, it was definitely in a piece written by Jerry Capeci.

One of the Gemini Lounge stories I've read said they chopped the the body up, place the body in trash bags, and put the bags in the dumpster behind the lounge. The lounge got trash service everyday. So within 48 hours of them killing someone, the body was under hundreds of tons of garbage. By the time someone noticed them missing, the body was under thousands of tons of garbage. You would never find them under all that garbage.

If you like abandoned places you should check out fort Tilden in breezy point just over the bridge where you were by Floyd Bennett field. There’s a few military bunkers and old building to explore. You can probably get a video out of it

You should do a specific neighbourhoods video series. As in what crews/families were in which neighbourhoods. Also which neighbourhoods are still mobbed up to this day. I don’t know if you’ve read it but Henry hill had a book out called ‘the good fellas guide to New York’ . It was kind of a mobbed up tour of the five Boroughs.
