Hindsight is 20/20 but if hadda retired at the right time we'd be saying "this (upcoming talent) kid is the next Roy Jones" instead of 'the next Floyd Mayweather'
I was saying that before seeing Jaron Ennis... I mean, don't get me wrong, and I'm talking about athletic ability here not achievement, he is not roy jones jr, but can very likely be called the closest boxer we can ever hope to be like roy jones. He has speed and power in both hand, has incredible foot movement, is tall for his weight and see the punch before they are thrown.
Roy rapping shows me his brain is still very healthy. Never skipped a beat meanwhile a lot of Legends just aren't the same. A lot of people like to see wars and criticize fighters like Floyd but at the end of the day their health is more important than your entertainment.
I remember Roy doing a concert, basketball game and fight, all in the same day! He beat both B-Hop and Lights Out in their prime and won the Heavyweight Championship! One of the greatest!
In his prime, hands down one of the best boxers I ever saw! Fast hands, powerful left hook, ring IQ, unorthodox style...you name it, this man had it. Well deserved hall of fame induction
Roy Jones Jr in his prime was to fast , his skills where phenomenal for you Young cats out there that don't know Roy go see this legend high lights ..and learn from the best of the best Roy Jones Jr 🥇 salute to one of the greatest of all time.
Love you RJJ baby never be another complete fighter inspired by Ali in our life-time, I will never forget your humility/kindness at the Tyson/Holyfield II weigh-in up on stage gave this brother the opportunity to meet P4P👑 at the time on top of his game, stay blessed and we will never forget your passion for the game ❤🙏
Say what ya'll want but a prime Roy beats a prime Mayweather. Roy had it all speed fast hands, power and great feet. Mayweather only had fast hands and great feet.
Somebody said of all the fighters they've ever seen, the only One comparable to the great Charlie Burley, was Roy Jones Jr, and that's when I realized how good Charley Burley was, to be described as being similar to the one and only Roy Jones jr! Thank you Champ ✊
He mad me love the sport of boxing. My father use to make us girls watch it and when Roy got in the ring I came alive. I love this guy! So talented and a great person. I ALWAYS say “Y’all must have forgot” ❤🎉
Isn’t it weird how during RJJ prime days he was hated and nobody really liked his style until after he began to get sparked then so many people jump on the band wagon of “Roy is the greatest I ever saw” if Floyd had been ironed out a few times I think the fans might think differently about Floyd and warm more to him lol
Keep it up! I am dropping 1 song a week for the next 3 years straight. It has never been done in music. Come along for the ride if you want. Stay blessed ! - Bryan
Wow it just really sunk in that this dude used to rap. When I was younger I would always listen to can't be stopped on the way to my basketball games as a youth 😭🙇🏾♂️
People forget for real that when Roy was reigning atop the lb4lb all those years he was such a spectacular blend of speed and power most of us thought he was the most athletically gifted boxer that ever lived. He really is still. Stubbornly sticking in the game so long past his expiration shouldn't change that
I once stood next to Roy in an elevator. He isn't very tall. Maybe 5'8 - 5'9 and not that big. It's amazing the things he was able to accomplish at Light Heavyweight and also Heavyweight, while being more of a natural super middleweight. He was basically an undersized Light Heavyweight all those years he was a champion in that weight class.
