@unwontedcontriver8625can't front never heard of him b4 mike. But man watching him box u can just see he was different. The way he would improv a punch is wild. He throws some of the weirdest hooks youll ever see but its because hes adjusting mid punch. Dude threw from crazy angles
@@joshlewis575not only that but his switch from agile boxer to slugger was seamless. In once second he'd be light on his feet and jabbing and without warning hurl bombs with his feet planted. And like Roy said, he had the stamina to do that for 15 rounds.
Arguably greatest puerto rican in history and greatest African fighter Nelson and he publicly made it clear he had his aim at 135 undefeated Alexis Arguello and somewhere in 80s julio cesar chavez at 140 but mofn death is a b**ch
I get the biggest chills just listening to the high praises Sal Sanchez gets from boxing legends like Roy Jones Jr., James Toney, Mayweather sr., Sugar ray Leonard, Tyson, ect. I've looked on all social media platforms and and ONLY Mexican boxer with zero negative comments or criticism is, Salvador Sanchez. Nothing but PRAISES for that legendary KID.
I saw Salvador Sánchez fight live, and I don't think there has been anyone with such a stamina like him. He will fight 15 rounds, and at the end of the fight, they will interview him and sound like he just got up from a coach. They used to call him Mr. Lungs, his cardio was unmatched. I guess because where he grew up in Mexico, at high altitude. The man was a machine. It was very sad that he died so young. R.I.P. Champ!
@@freddyleon3232 No, he didn't drink alcohol either, he didn't smoke, he didn't take drugs, he didn't get into controversy, he wasn't unfaithful to his wife and he always remained humble
@@freddyleon3232 In these channels you can find information about him, only the language is Spanish ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jTOgSIDZRrU.htmlsi=fC24lS3_RsjcaESs
With all the qualities Roy mentioned (a unique cardio, he never stepped back in front of nobody, a unique combativeness, footwork...) he just shared the complete proof that Salvador Sanchez isn't just the greatest mexican fighter; he is the greatest boxer in history. I place Orlando Canizales just behind him.
I discovered Sanchez a couple of years ago after hearing Roy, Iron Mike, and other boxers talking about him. Blown away would be an understatement. I was in awe. To be that young, that polished, that technical, that gritty, just that complete was mind blowing. Damn shame he died so young. He was really scratching the surface of his talent.
Sanchez already had a hall of fame career at 23 when he died in the car accident, imagine if that freaking monster had lived until the prime years of 28-32 The guy would've had a giant record like chavez, robinson, duran, but probably even better
@@jerrygraves6531when Roy Jones jr and Mike Tyson and many others say he was the GOAT I’ll take their word over yours. It bothers you for some reason, not hard to guess why
Tres pulmones bien preparados dos corazones por qué estaba también enamorado de la preparación y vaya que condición .. . Lastima que se nos haya adelantado ! . Viva por siempre !!. *
Memories are like glue to the mind when its emotional. I remember the day and where i was when on the radio it was announced The Great Salvador Sanchez was killed in a car accident so many years ago.
As a proud Mexican It’s an honor to hear a man like Roy Jones jr Giving a Mighty Mexican Warrior recognition like legend Salvador Sanchez … Real recognize real…🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽
As you said Bro, Real Recognize Real. Doing research on him over the years I feel that even with his career being cut short due to his unfortunate Death, he's still the Best Mexican Fighter ever with his closest competition not being Julio Cesar Chavez but rather Ricardo Lopez. Watching his Old Fights he's a Joy to Watch. That's coming from a African American fight fan, because Greatness knows No Color or Ethnicity.
I read Salvador said that when he Trained for Fights he Trained for 30 Rounds, no wonder his Cardio was off the Charts. I watched Sanchez/Gomez yesterday. His very last Fight v Azumah Nelson was excellent & another Fight that I rate high on Sanchez Record was against Pat Cowdell of England what a tremendous Fight I can't recommend it high enough. ✌️🙏
But why did he have to die so soon? 🥺🥺 but those 23 years, he lived his life for sure! He was so great that he told that he'll quit boxing and become a doctor. Sad to see him pass so early
b Julio Cesar Chavez was 52-0-0 44 KO's at age of 23. By this time JCC had successful 6 title fights, all wins with 5 KO's. -89 0 1 74 KO’s record before his first loss. -Ended career with 31 successful world title fights covering 3 different weight divisions.
@@fmills1583 yes but against who❓ how many hall of famers did Chavez Beat or hoe many did he even fight with more then 100 fights❓. Ive reviewed his resume bro....his 40th fight was vs a guy who had 0 pro fights‼️ If you look back at hes record you will see almost half of his fights were against rivals who rarely fought 5 times after their fight with Chavez.....meaning they were just passing by.
@@warriorsonly9966 Funny, I see the 40th guy Chavez fought as having a 21 4 0 record named Adriano Arreola. Where do you get your information? Chavez beat 19 world champions and also beat 9 guys who previously undefeated. Sanchez fought 5 guys with NO fights plus 8 guys with more loses than wins/same losses as wins. Also the guy Sanchez lost to was 13-2 and the guy he drew with was 8-2, so basically we have him struggling against journeymen.
Dude was smooth and defensively minded offensive fighter...my favorite boxer from mexico even though i wasnt born at the time..I love my boy Pacquiao, but sanchez to me shows the beauty of the sport
Thank you, Mr. Jones Jr., and that is a heck of a recommendation coming from greats like yourself, tyson, toney and other greats. I was born in 81 but as a former boxer and seeing greats like hearns, leanord, duran, sweet pea, Chavez, Pryor, Sanchez. All of you would have murdered our generation in a second. You guys were absolutely monsters of the boxing world
Salvador Sanchez is the best boxer I have ever seen in my 62 years on this earth! Fought all challengers & was not concerned about his “LEGACY” Canelo! He embodied the true Mexican fighting spirit!! Wilfredo Gomez was 32-0 with 32 knockouts & Sanchez destroyed him! His demeanor never changed during his fights! No showboating, no antics, strictly business. What a great fighter! He was killed in a car accident at the age of 23 & had already defended his title 9 times.Gone too soon! RIP Mr. Sanchez!!
Salvador Sanchez resume was incredible at just age 23. If he didn’t pass away at a young age, Sanchez would of been considered the greatest of all time. Resume at just 23 speaks for itself(Danny Lopez, Castillo, La Porte, Wilfredo Gomez(greatest fighter out of 🇵🇷), Azumah Nelson(greatest fighter out of 🇬🇭), Pat Cowdell, Patrick Ford), 🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽. Greatest fighter in my opinion to this day
Roy is a bad ass, but for him to acknowledge RS, makes his legacy even more grandeur… but yes Sanchez was a bad mofo.. the gold standard in Mexico boxing..
I'm reminded of how great Azumah Nelson was by how he performed against the great Salvador Sanchez! I think Don King denied us a great champion when he gifted that sports ride to Salvador, whether intentionally or unintentionally...
Nice presentation and expert testimony but JCC still gets my vote as greatest Mexican fighter of all time. Someone had to say it and I love you so it might as well be me.
When mike roy and JT all go to explain their points about a single man with mixed tones.......he is a beast the gods called upon to fight for their amusemeny because our sacrilegious eyes seem to have been unworthy.
Sanchez wouldn't of been in the gym doing any of these stupid strength and conditioning shit they do now that is ineffective for specific sport movements. He was throwing a fuck load of punches, sparring, dancing around the ring over and over.
My pops would always talk about him, said Salvador would run circles around anyone. It’s true legends do die young 😔 tragedy hit Salvador Sanchez at 23, car accident. RIP GOAT.
It is great that Sanchez is being talked about by fighters who understood how great this man was. His death in a car wreck cut short an even better career. Died way too early
I respect that statement specially coming from 1of my favorite boxer's mister Roy Jones Jr. but I think my boy Trinidad would have stopped him in his prime no doubt

He never said he didn’t know him, he said he didn’t study him as much. Canelo is a student of the game though, dude was studying Gilberto Roman, whom most Mexican casuals don’t even know.
