Yeah, Roy recorded his vocals sometime in 1987 with songwriters Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly, but he didn't have a recording contract till a year later when he signed with Virgin. After he passed away, Steinberg and Kelly gave the song to Cyndi Lauper which became a hit for her in 1989. In 1991 when Jeff Lynne was making a final album for Roy, Steinberg and Kelly gave Lynne the recording of Roy's demo and Jeff built around the recording, in actuality, the Production credits should read Produced by Jeff Lynne, Billy Steinberg & Tom Kelly.
