Elvis, Sinatra, etc. they were all great and all had their own inimitable styles but no one was better than Roy. The man could run up and down several octaves like it was nothing. Roy, was literally one of a kind.
First time I heard this started crying. Then when I read about the tragedies this man experienced, endured and worked out through his music, I became a fountain of tears.

I would like to hear singers from rock, pop and even classical talk about singers like Roy Orbison. Just to help the rest of us understand just how incredible voices like Mr Orbison's was.
What year did you see him? My uncle seen him over 5 times and even met him a few times. And no joke, but he actually went to his final concert in Ohio. He gave me the ticket stub to it as well which I'm very honored to have! I wish I had to live to hear of these great singers. I was born in the wrong generation lol.
I saw him perform at The Wolf Trap in Northern Virginia in 1988 (I think). He sounded just like all his records. The concert also had Carl Perkins performing a set. Wish I had a video camera like I do now.
Loved this song so much, and then after watching Blue Velvet I was shown it in a different light. Honestly I cam say my appreciation for it grew even more after that. It's so beautiful and now to me it's beautifully haunting
I love this song & Roy Orbisons voice, it reminds me of my darling parents, who use to dance to this at family parties, sadly gone now, very much missed, when i'm feeling low bc i miss them so much, i play this song, it brings back so many happy memories of them, & days long gone.
Roy was just as good of songwriter as he was a singer. The year he filmed this live he has lost his wife Claudette in a horrible motorcycle crash. What’s really sad is two years later he lost his 2 oldest sons in a house fire....
When I first heard this song I thought it was an old elvis song. then I found out there was someone better than elvis.. For some reason this song makes me think of back to the future 2 weard. 🤔 What a great song
I was lucky enough to see Roy twice. 1st time was as MSG in the mid 70's. He shook hands on his way out, and he shook mine(I have a pic.) the 2nd time in 1982 I stood behind a 2ft.high open fence 6 feet in front of him at a small club in Bayshore, L.I., N.Y. called Sundance.

Brings a tear to my eye. Listened to him for 2 years, i’m 20 now. Hate to be that guy but i have to share that young people still appreciate this. The kind of talent that will stay strong forever
