Racing seems to have went daft over the last several years . Over the top presenters on TV. Mugging into the camera. Obsessed with people acting up .jockeys standing up on horses waving their sticks in nearly every race the antics in the racing league.. singing and dancing into camera after a win .etc. is turning me off a sport I used to love . The clowning of frankie dettori didn't help . The tv presentation seemed to jump on this I think . Racing is in trouble everytime I read the Racing post. Oh for the days when they used to talk about the horses and not celebrity .
😝Awwww Bollocks !!!.. it was THIS race Harry was on about .. I knew Phillip Robinson had a difficult decision cis Pebbles was in Clive Britains yard which he was attached to … a perfect example of why I was a mug punter and had to give up .. ffs 🤦♂️ That was an AWESOME vid and I couldn’t wait till later tonight to watch it , great fun for me this , thanks so much 🙏 👍🏴
What a fantastic video. I started going to Ascot in ‘86. Being able to stand by the winning post on the heath was great. Completely different now sadly. Corporate to the max ☹️
Oh the IRONY.. 😀.. one of the Legends of 80’s racing Teleprompter slammed the door in Vintage tolls face at a crucial point , might not have won but would’ve def been closer . Great display from Teleprompter under top weight and a big fav of mine ever since he went to America and I think he won the Arlington million if memory serves for Bill Watts . I got a great thrill outta that race and my charge got placed 😃 👍🏴
@@BradyPires7 Miss Silca Key was owned by some bloke that sold locks. The main ones being Silca. He had a horse called Silca Star Key, and our school pals dad worked alongside the owner. One day at a wet Lingfield we had it right off!
Phillip Robinson one of my favorite jockeys when he rode for the great Michael jarvis money was down very rarely left behind very underatted jockey top class he was 😊
@@HorseRacingLegends 😆 that’s the bit I’m looking forward to tbh.. I’m gonna select my tips from the card and comment them here before I watch them , I know that sounds a little silly but hey .. that’s part of the interest for me 😃 👍🏴
love come on the blues as steve rode it in his later years. remember one race the jocks were protesting to the jockey club or something so some went on a go slow, steve took come on the blues to post really slowly not sure if it was chester he was asked after why did it take you so long to get to post. steve said the horse wanted to see the sights . legend
Interesting to note at the very start Newsboy(Bob Butchers) in the Mirror. Butchers in the early trials of Racecourse Commentaries, was chosen by Bob Haynes to be his racereader. The combination became so popular leading to Haynes taking the number one position in the very first batch of racecourse commentators alongside Peter Montague Evans, Peter Bromley, Tony Cooke, Michael Seth Smith and Bryan Firth. Haynes passed away in 1982, but I have just noticed Butchers lived to the ripe old age of 94. Not a bad innings for the original "Newsboy".
Race 3 : Vintage toll , I couldn’t see all the field in the paper , so I’ve just selected a horse I remember and was up in the betting .. let’s go 😅 👍🏴
The next race , though I’m not sure of the result revolves around Katie’s , I seen a fantastic Nick Luck Sunday morning interview with Harry Findlay I think , where he told Nick he’d never been more certain of a result when Katie’s had won and he’d had a monster bet on her , but for the life of me I can’t remember if it was in the Irish guineas or here at RA .. I’ll have to hope the team mention what her last win was and if it was in Ireland I’ll be going with Pebbles instead , I think they met more than once .. let’s get into it 👌 👍🏴
@@jaymacgee_A_Bawbag_Blethering Yes I’ve had 4/5 from a Canadian once.Last one got beat but still won about 800 quid. Its was Henry Kissinger at Cheltenham.Remember standing in the Bookies with the excel. My Heart was pounding .Would have won a few thousand but it got well beat.Better that than second.
@@HorseRacingLegends nightmare .. the year Generous won the Derby I had the first 3 winners in my 50p Yankee come up all at good prices , including Generous and it all went on to a horse if memory serves in a 1m 2f handicap , the last televised race .. shot clear at the 2f pole and pulled away .. going up to the line I was phoning my sister to gleefully tell her I’d won over £1k…. And from fkn NOWHERE something finished like The Dublin express and beat mine in a photo .. can’t remember the name but “ Greek “ is the only remnant of a memory I have of it .. GUTTING !!.. so I know your pain 🙄 👍🏴
@@HorseRacingLegends an unbeaten O’Brien/Sangster horse , hot favourite for a Royal Ascot race but I still hadnt heard of her .. stood to reason it hadnt won , yeah she looked ill at ease all the way 👌 👍🏴
