This song and the song “Space” are two bonus tracks that are the new album “Typhoons” on the Deluxe Digital Album usstore.royalbloodband.com/catalog/product/view/id/1138954/s/typhoons-digital-album/category/79658/
@@Sexyoldgeraldorivera It kinda doesn't fit, but also kinda does? I feel like it has a bit more hip hop influence than the rest of the album, there are even places where Mike kinda raps. But the overall sound does mostly fit. I don't really think it would fit while making the whole thing cohesive at the same time, unless you maybe replaced Who Needs Friends with it, which would kinda suck because that song slaps.
Or how bad the album is that they agreed this song didn’t fit on it so it had to be moved to a b side. This is one of those disappointments similar to muse not placing fury in absolution or futurism in oos
King's "bonus track" status has nothing to do with RB's own quality rating of their work, it's nothing but a thematic/artistic decision. Making an album isn't just throwing in a list the best songs you wrote in the last 3 years, it's about creating a cohesive piece reflecting a certain style of writing that fuels you, and inspires you, through a certain time of your musician life. King unfortunately doesn't fit on Typhoons in a lot of ways, as it is from an era of writing that Mike did move away from, and that's about it. Nothing to do with "how good it is or isn't related to the definitive album tracklist".
Little reminder to a few people I saw in this comments: you can appreciate this absolute banger without shitting on the rest of the album. Typhoons is amazing, accept the fact that they're evolving their sound and experimenting new things
Good track, but Kerr was right when he said it didn't fit with the new album's sound, since they've evolved in their songwriting process. I fucking love the new album, FWIW.
@@fs19992009 They likely realised they wouldn't have gotten away with not putting boilermaker on. Boilermaker on the album is still alot different to it's first live debut about a year ago, and I think alot of the background instrumental they added was in a similar style to the new songs. King on the other hand still has major QOTSA influence as Josh Homme produced it alongside the original boilermaker
I find it criminal not having this song on the album, i get that maybe it doesnt fit the dance-rock style the album goes for but MAN, this is probably the best thing theyve made
@@opikks *shrugs* well it's right here for free lol. If you really "hate" the idea of listening illegally then just fork up the 7 dollars. The band deserves it.
@@opikks I mean, i can give them views from youtube and that could give them money, also views on spotify even though you ain't premium Hate to have to listen this song by this way :(
Great song, but I see why they made it a B-side. It sounds much more like Royal Blood's first two albums than Typhoons. They wanted to keep the songwriting style of the album consistent, so this makes a perfect B-side.
Take me away from the girls and the boys Smother my ears, help me shut out the noise 'Cause all I wanna do is run away from it Fire me out from what I wanted to be 'Cause I pray for the day I will never be found No more voice in my head making terrible sounds Throw out the cash and the money that you earn Go back to the ash of the bridge that you burned, yeah If I could have it all I could be king Instead of hearing noise in everything If I could have it all I could be king Last night I was drinking like a man that was trying to drown But I wasn't sinking, I was swimming myself Take from the ground Fumbling up high when there's no one around, woah I got so sick, so sick No sign of anyone, so lay it out there I got no manners So if I could have it all I could be I could be the motherfucking king Instead of hearing noise in everything If I could have it all I could be king Instead of hearing noise in everything If I could have it all I could be king If I could have it all I could be king Instead of hearing noise in everything Don't wanna be one, run under my skin If I could have it all I could be
I see why it’s a bonus. Fantastic song, but didn’t fit Typhoons as was. This is more in the style of Honeybrains and it’s subsequent album, not Typhoons and it’s house/electronic influences. Maybe it will be on Honeybrains, who knows.
I think Space should have made the album, totally fine with this being a B-Side. It's good, I am glad I can listen to this, but not up the standard of Typhoons (a perfect album).
They need to re do yhe drums for this. They don't hit like yhe live version especially in the chorus. Not sure how the mix was messed up for this. Maybe it didnt get past pre production phase
As a musician and having just listened to this through decent headphones, the drums are really raw and I think it gives them a more natural sound. That snare sound is the same as their debut album 🤘🏼
I disagree. And I'm a drummer lol. They don't have nesrly the same impact at all as the live version. I think its down to the mixing. For a start. Theres no snare in the chorus at all its hand claps.
@@gabrieladdison yep, I play guitar and then use an octave pedal to make it sound like a bass at the same time. Opposite of what royal blood do with a bass and use an octave pedal to make it sound like guitar
Man if they replaced “Hold on” and “Either You Want It” with King and Space the album would’ve been so much stronger, but nevertheless Typhoons isn’t a bad album -Limbo Typhoons Trouble Coming -Into Oblivion -All We Have Is Now -Boilmaker -One In A Million -Who Needs Friends
@@opikks hahahahahahahahahahahaha not as good as there first 2 albums, i respect trying new things but hopefully they return back to stuff like hole and little monster and stuff haha
@@yasdrums and i respect that. i come from a drum and bass band as well and definitley struggle without guitar anymore. but it good fun so i respect what there doing. i just rather there heavier stuff
@@lachiebrown9622 You can always listen to the first two albums on repeat, if they continue doing the same stuff it would be boring for them and for the fans. So no, bring on more change.
No, no they aren't 🤦♂️ keeping the same sound with no changing style leads to burnout. The new album Is fantastic, keeps the original theme but innovates with a new style.
Delusional, yes king should have been on the album, but typhoons is a great sounding album with a new feel. You cannot take the fact away that it sounds amazing from where they have come from
