Excellent presentation. I've been on 37 cruises, and I am a pig who loves to watch videos of cruise food. One thing I greatly appreciate is the fact that nowadays we can view virtually every aspect of a cruise before we set sail. In the old days, I had to grab a brochure from a travel office just to look at still pictures of deck plans. Thanks to people like yourselves, I can view every detail of a ship. I'm headed for the Odyssey in a few months and I love these!
Would like to express that this is the best food coverage DETAILS we have ever seen due to your great effort of writing the names of the dishes ,,, Great job ! ! ! ❤💚💙💜💛❤ Thaaaank you soo much for bring ur some great experiences ! ! ! !
Wow they have some fancy looking breakfast open sandwiches on top of having all the classic breakfast items. Always love watching your food videos with all the names of the dishes. Appreciate your time and effort in making this excellent video and share it with us. Best regards.💕
@@pinkkay7235 what is wrong with that! Your parents are older! They cater to everyone! If there is something you want ask them! They will be happy to oblige you or tell you why not!
My fave cruise videos, you guys display everything with perfection and are so thorough. Exactly what I’m seeking when looking for these kind of videos and the ONLY ones I’ve found who do it so perfectly 👏
Gracious! On my cruise in February, you couldn't move around the buffet, much less take time to check everything out. Lol. Wish it was as relaxing as this.
I really enjoyed your format where you intersperse stills of the food with live action video. It really highlights the details of the food much better than just flying through with video footage alone. As for the food I’m partial to NCL’s food offerings. Nice job!
Again, another fantastic video. I must be watching it in higher def with my new tablet because wow, the food really stood out. I do not remember a lot of those items on my May cruise on the Liberty of the Seas. I guess I need to walk through the buffet more often.
I know! I love fresh eggs but I also love fresh waffles. Of course, bacon and ham as well. Because my travel companion is cautious about covid, I likely won't get to cruise until September of 2023 (Alaska). With just with the included options, I know I'm going to eat myself cross-eyed. Have to really exercise restraint and eat small snack sized meals if I want to try as much as I can.
We haven't had cruises in Australia for 2 years now and we are the biggest cruiseing country per capita.......Please come back cruises because we miss you.
Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. So I would be first in line at 6:30am. I'm not an adventurer when it comes to new foods but the scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, pancakes and biscuits etc. would work just fine for me. Top it off with some coffee and sticky buns and I'm all set until evening. Don't even need lunch.
Thank you for labeling all the food. what a difference it makes..I wondered if they had eggs Benedict and there they were. eggs Florentine with spinach. Do you know if The Solarium Bistro is an extra charge. it looks really good with the healthy Mediterranean food. Baklava is one of my favorites. Thank you for a great video. would love to book a cruise on RC Wonder of the Seas. I've cruised them once before on Voyager. My favorite was the Ice skating show. Thanks again.
It's our pleasure- happy to hear that it was helpful! 🙂 The Solarium Bistro is certainly complimentary. In the past at night they had a specialty restaurant running at the same venue, but I don't think they're doing that any more. Those ice skating shows are some of our favorites too on the Royal ships that have it!
I will be sailing on my first Royal Caribbean voyage this September to Canada 👍😊! It will be on "Voyage of the Seas " for 7 nights. Thank you for posting this video 👏!
I miss cruising, I LOVED the breakfast buffet, great waking up at 6am and running down deck for the breakfast buffet , then looking out at sea and having a daydream.... I haven't been on a cruise in 7 years! With Covid, the economy and job loss/inflation personal losses / health/mental / issues, its been really really hard for me and everyone else in the last 7 years....Good times will be back folks !!!👍🏼
Yessir! We've been on to several cruises already since the restart. There has been cutbacks but overall they've been really good experiences like in the past. Hope you go back cruising sooner than later! 🙂
Jeez, Scotty. Sounds like a lot of bad shit has happened to you. I wish you better times. Keep your head above water, tread if you have to! I hope you get yourself on another wonderful cruise in the near future. Cheers.
Thank you for your informative video. I hear from people who have never cruised before query if there is much food or much of a selection. I enjoyed the combination of still pictures and video.
I noticed they only put out two of each thing, like two pancakes, two waffles, etc. That makes sense. It limits the exposure time. The buffet looks great to me!
I see they had corned beef hash. I had that on my last cruise with NCL. It’s a favorite breakfast food of mine. I’m booked on the Harmony of the Seas for this coming April, and I’m nervous about all the food changes RCL has been proposing. The whole point of cruising is stuffing yourself full of good food, so I’m hoping these changes are for the better. [EDIT] I see they changed the coffee too! It used to say “Royal Caribbean Roast.” Now it says something else. Hope that’s a change for the better. I loved their coffee as it was.
Yeah we definitely noticed cutbacks vs years ago, but they should certainly still have the corned beef hash. Have a great time on the Harmony- let us know how you liked the food!
It is 2 years since Spectrum of the Seas was at the OPT here in Sydney embarking the first responders from the Bush fires that lavished 3 states. We miss cruising hope they will be back for our wave season at the end of the year.
I absolutely love the video, the breakfast looks absolutely amazing, planning my first cruise, I'm a coffee drinker, must have a good cup of java, were the blue Pageses "EQUAL", got to have my Equal, thanks.
unbelievable mind blowing. these people that are preparing all of this have done a fabulous job. now to find this ship, oh where oh where are you hiding. i'd have to get my stateroom farthest from this location as possible. work off some of the calories. my my, i've never seen anything like this b4. cheers everybody.
They have 2 tiers of their Voom Internet service- one allows for streaming and a cheaper option that doesn't. You can watch RU-vid, Netflix, etc w/ the streaming tier- I think it was $20 a day if you get it for the entirety of the cruise, and the slower tier is like $15. The speeds are adequate but definitely not broadband speed.
I have a question. My hubby and I are going on a 4 night Adventure of the Seas cruise out of Galveston Nov. 2022. I doubt they will serve lobster tails during our cruise in the MDR. Can I request the Maitre D (ahead of time) for 2 lobster tails to be served the next night? Will it cost extra?
Yeah they only have lobster night on cruises 7 nights and longer. If you do go on a 7 night or longer, you sure can request 2 lobster tails on one plate. Thanks for the question!
Wow, can’t tell breakfast, lunch or teatime. There’re something for everyone. More choice on a big fat ship. But have to be selective. I’d stick to continental with a different pastry during a cruise and cooked items before debarkation as 1 for the road. June of London, UK
Thank you for sharing this. This makes me want to see the lunch and dinner options.. Also is there a specialty restaurant on this cruse? Someone mentioned specialty restaurants are normally discounted on the first night of the cruise
Our pleasure! 🙂 Be sure to check out our other Royal Caribbean food videos to see lunch & dinner options. There are several specialty restaurants, and yes sometimes they'll be discounted on the first night of the cruise.
Thank you very much! 😊 The food is almost constantly being brought out from the kitchen. Usually there is a hot tray covered by plastic wrap located in a storage area behind the buffet table. A crew member will then swap out the existing tray of food once it starts to run low.
Thank you very much for this clip. We are planning for our first cruise and wondering what Caribbean cruise offer. They do not tell exactly what are on complimentary. With your presentation we know what we should expect. From Australia. Thanks
Our pleasure- thanks for commenting! 😊 If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask and we'd be happy to help. Have a amazing time on your first cruise!
Hello cruisers. I was on Odyssey mid December 2021 and am scheduled again March 26 2022. If you have been on the Odyssey in Feb 2022 could you kindly tell me what the nightly shows are in the Main Theatre
I am from Hawaii. When eating at a breakfast buffet in Las Vegas, we usually tip the omelet station chef a dollar after receiving our omelets (or over easy eggs). Is that something we can do at a cruise ship buffet?
Great video! i have done a few cruises but all on Marella which is a british mid price mid size ship line ( they are part of TUI and Royal have a stake in the company so thier current fleet is made up of 2 ex royal ships splendour and ledgend of the seas and 2 ex celebrity ships galaxy and century currently as they have offloaded thier older ships like everyone else due to covid ...i cruised on 4 of their fleet of older ships which were the ex costa europa, ex royal carribean MS song of america (still sailing with celestyal cruises if you want nostalgia) , ex holand americas MS Noordam and MS Nieuw Amsterdam) and buffets onboard all thier ships are smaller OBV and at Breakfast catered to british tastes so if i ever traveled on a royal caribean cruis i would be flumoxed with all that choice we brits think having the continetal breakfast option is being posh lol we aint used to having full carved hams, cold cuts and cheese, roasted potatoes , grits cream of wheat , ice cream stews for breakfast is wierd to us! we used to a full english breakfast fried egg , sausage, tomatoes, baked beaans, black pudding (if you dont know what that is look it up lol) fried bread, bacon etc!
Thank you! 😊 Nice- you've been quite a few of former HAL & Royal ships. That's a list of quite a delicious food combination for a breakfast buffet! Black pudding is good eats 😋
I'm American but I'd be quite overwhelmed by that buffet. I've never seen ice cream or stir fried vegetables at breakfast, black or red dyed salmon (what the hell?) and all the chocolate/desserts. Sure people like to enjoy their vacation, but that's going too far. Can people tell me, Is the food fresh and well-cooked?
Not at all- it's for sanitary reasons since crew members ensure their hands are always clean while handling the spoons/tongs, and ensuring where the hands touch the spoons/tongs don't lay on the food. Also to avoid situations like passengers putting food back into the buffet plates.
Another great video! Questions: Does the Windjammer actually close between breakfast and lunch, or do they just move food around? Was it open after lunch for afternoon tea & snacks or closed completely before dinner?
Thank you! It does not close between breakfast and lunch, but they will shutdown sections of the buffet to swap in the lunch items until the change is complete. They didn't have afternoon tea, and lunch does close at 3 PM. I think they had a few snack items out, but there are other places to grab a bite too like the Cafe Two270, Sorrento's Pizza, Cafe Promenade & El Loco Fresh (a new taco/burrito place on the pool deck).
I ‘ve made 30 cruise on Royal Caribbean so far the best cruise ship you can sail on. Everything perfect. FOOD, Entertaiment, excurshins, Food top quality, you couldn’t ask for more, oh yes cruise-employees are friendly, The best. We’ll after 30 cruises I think Royal is the best.
wow that looks great went on the mardi gras a few weeks ago and boy we were so disappointed with their buffet hardly any food never had any other situation on all the other carnival ships time to try Royal cruise line.
Sorry to hear that the Mardi Gras didn't have good food at the buffet. Yeah we've found the Royal Caribbean buffet usually is more expansive than Carnival, though we enjoyed some of Carnival's casual eateries like Guy's Burgers & Blue Iguana. Thanks for the comment!
I've been on 5 RCCL cruises and all were excellent. But one thing, I brought this to the attention of RCCL and nothing has been done. One of the big reasons that sickness is spread on the ship is that everyone uses the same serving spoons. How many people touch the serving spoon in the scrambled eggs for example. There is a solution, just haven't' thought about it yet.
Yeah it's more sanitary for sure with the crew serving, though Royal has switched back to self-serve. I think if enough guests request the crew to serve on the after-cruise feedback form, that could convince them to bring it back.
@@TravelTouristVideos the only other options would be to wear nice fitting and good looking rubber gloves at the start of the buffet. Or give each guest his own serving spoon but that would tend to mix food. Gloves would be the best option. If you think about it, it's a serious problem. EVERYBODY touches the serving spoons. not good.
Not really from what we've seen, and we've been on the Enchantment as well which had a nice selection too. On the larger ships you do have more venues to eat.
I'm not sure if I would consider Princess or HAL more premium, but they do seem to focus more on food, so the quality there is a little higher, though Royal has more selection at the buffet. Royal & NCL focus more on bells & whistles on some of their ships. Celebrity is probably more premium, but HAL can match or exceed its food quality here and there. We like all the cruise lines in general- it's great they try to differentiate themselves in certain ways.
If I ever decide to go on a cruise ship, I would do it for the food but I'm going to use " looking to experience oceanic travel " as an excuse/reason if someone asks. 😀😂 ( Side Note ➡ Too bad they don't include fried eggs that are NOT scrambled, fried spam, and fried rice in the breakfast buffet ).
We've been on over 80 cruises, mostly with Royal Caribbean. The Windjammer, where they serve the breakfast buffet, does have fried eggs. You can even custom order some. I recommend asking your waiter about the other items. They are very accommodating and friendly!💙🛳💙
