In the previous video “Can you trust the Indians?” we presented the Royal Enfield Continental GT 535 EFI in a review and asked ourselves the following questions:
How is the quality? Can you trust the Indians?
So far we have identified a total of 7 quality defects, 2 of which were genuine, dangerous safety defects in original equipment components:
the bad tires and the drive chain that is at risk of cracking.
We have described and implemented remedial measures for all 7 defects and, in addition to these technical optimizations, we have also shown a few possible visual improvements to the already very beautiful café racer.
If you haven't seen this video yet, you should do so first to get a complete picture of how to make these machines sturdy and reliable.

This previous video, among many others, also reached a well-meaning Royal Enfield driver from my neighboring town, who is also optimizing his GT 535, and who kindly alerted me to another dangerous safety flaw in Royal Enfield's 500 and 535 EFI engines.
This video describes this additional security deficiency and shows in detail how to remedy it. It also addresses another serious problem with these 500 Bullet and 535 EFI engine generations that a driver of these machines should be aware of if they don't want any unpleasant surprises.
The conversion of the automatic chain tensioner to the manually adjustable chain tensioner was done by Florian Nytz, Royal Enfield dealer in Wittighausen, Germany,
