A lesson on not to believe all that you read on Facebook. I should have left it as it was. Just me being fussy ! Hopefully you will learn from my mistake. Bit of a long shot but if someone viewing this video can supply a replacement panel please get in touch. Thanks

Well done for showing the error... Should be possible to rub down very carefully and re-apply lacquer to the whole area .

It looks nicer without the decal - I'd suggest using T-Cut to smooth it out and then some nice waxy polish (nope not done this myself - but would seem a simple thing to try, and you may like the results!

I would try T Cutting it but where the logo has been it is gloss, hard to pick up on camera, but thank you for the suggestion. I hope to come up with a solution soon. Thanks for watching 👍

Don't use T Cut or polish on a matt finish surface, it will put a gloss shine on it and will ruin it!

@@jonathandeeley6276 Thanks for that, I won't, T cut is a very harsh abrasive, be a lot easier to find a replacement sticker 👍Thanks for the advice

Oh dear, the majority of the decals on the Classic 350 are fitted before the Lacquer stage which is a good thing to prevent them peeling. On such a new bike and to save wasting more money I would go the route of a new panel, it may not be as expensive as you think. Bodyshops don't come cheap and may not want the job as its so small or they may not want to do the job unless they've prepped the surface themselves. You could try a rattle can of clear lacquer yourself but the results are dependent on spraying conditions, your skills with a rattle can and the quality of finish and whether the finished item matches the finish on the rest of the bike. For me, I'd go the new panel route.🤔👍
@Butlers_Bike_life
@Butlers_Bike_life 3 месяца назад
Thanks for the reply, to get another panel was my first route, but don't get me started on Royal Enfield parts, 15 week wait and thats if its on the container from India. Some dealers even said they wouldn't take my order as they dont think they can get one. When I make part 2 hopefully I will have good news....noticed I said hopefully 😂 Nothing in the RE world happens quick, the biggest let down for these awesome bikes. 👍

@jonathandeeley6276 3 месяца назад
@@Butlers_Bike_life Yes I quite agree! Great bikes, I love my 350 Classic and Meteor 350 but the biggest let down with them are the UK importers. They haven't a clue about customer service, they are just amateurs playing at it, I've had plenty of problems and experience either them over essential parts they can't supply. Did you know that they can't even supply oil filters to their dealers and dealers are having to bulk buy direct from India even though RE UK have told them not too?! They really are a bunch of idiots that unless they get their act together sooner rather than later customers will take their custom elsewhere.☹️👍
@Butlers_Bike_life
@Butlers_Bike_life 3 месяца назад
@@jonathandeeley6276 I know a dealer who can't even get bikes and has customers that want to buy them ! Its crazy about the oil filter situation, I have been looking on ebay for parts and everything is in India, only ordered once form India and I had a fantastic service. I enquired about pannier bags on FB and the next thing I had a phone call from India, they are really switched on out there. All RE have got to do is get the blinking parts shipped over but that seems an impossible task for them. To be honest with you my Classic 350 was one of MOTGB bikes and I had it for a steal, probably the cheapest in the UK. But fully agree RE have got to get their act together as they need to be support these fantastic bikes. 👍

I would try ‘nail polish remover without acetone’ to remove the borders of clear coat. First do a test on a not visible part. And then with a cotton swab try to remove the borders of clear coat, not perfect but ideal to put a nice Enfield sticker on it.

The side panel sticker is the only cheap looking part of the Classic 350, a silver foil afterthought whose design doesn't fit in with the bike. I looked at removing mine, but on closer examination it appeared to be lacquered, as you found out. Not the end of the world, T-cut and elbow grease, or at worse a respray, and it will look much better than with the sticker.

I just got my new gunmetal grey and I had debated removing the side stickers. I had read in a couple forums that it would leave the lacquer lines though. I've seen on ebay they have a silver classic 350 decal, I believe from an older model classic 350. I've thought about getting them, and if they're the same size, applying them over the blue ones. Not sure if I will or not. Here in the US, our grey models come with the cast wheels, and they have the blue rim tape on them. I'm definitely going to remove that. Please let us know how this turns out for you.

I wish I had read the same forums as you 😂 I had someone on facebook who had the same gun metal grey bike say its ok to peel them off. Thats why I made the video to help any one else thinking of removing them. I have searched high and low for replacement stickers the same size, I might be getting some where. Will certainly make a Part 2 with a resolution to my silly error....Not sure who came up with the blue....black would be better.....Thanks for watching 👍

That sticker is totally out of place on that bike. I would definitely remove it even after seeing your video. I've a little bit of experience with body work and I would recommend doing exactly what you said. Bite the bullet and take it to a body shop for a proper job; it shouldn't cost much. Good luck mate.

@@Butlers_Bike_life maybe just stretch a black plastic bag over it and tape it in place to see if you like the look before actually painting it. It obviously won't look very nice but it might help you decide if you might like it or not.
