Great instructional video. One suggestion (that I learned the hard way😩) when installing stainless pipes is to always clean them really carefully after fitting (and before the first engine start) with windex or some similar non-residue leaving cleaner. Otherwise, as the the pipe heats up and naturally colors into nice golden hues etc, any oily marks, fingerprints etc become permanently baked blotches in the metal...

Your garage looks to be better decorated than my lounge! A big part of the attraction of RE's must be how easy they are to work on as bikes used to be in the days before you tube when all we had were a few spanners and lots of red hermetite.

from my experience, riding without the baffle makes the engine completely loose the thump… when I went for the first ride I was immensely disappointed by the sound… It was just a low end mushed up something that really did not resemble the classic sound.. with the baffle in, it is exquisite and it gets back all the character and adds that rawness to it… 🤷🏻‍♂️😁 big difference, wasn’t expecting it …

@@Sohail_Sheikh-7 Gotcha, yeah I have heard of that too. Its been 3 months since I installed it and there's no issues so far. A free flow exhaust is said to improve fuel efficiency, as the engine doesn't have to pump out the gases. Maybe I will find out if I go on a long ride :)

A few day back I got around to fitting the DNA filter & cover which on its own gives a bit more mid range torque and some induction roar but frankly was a bit underwhelmed considering the reviews though no negatives I guess. Then I fitted the D-cat pipe. Now we’re talking. Collectively they transform the bike’s character. Before I had a bike that looked like an old bike but sounded like a scooter with a nice farty exhaust. Nice enough, very relaxing ride, no complaints. Now though it not only resembles an old bike it sounds more like one too! Also, it altogether feels keener to spin up and happier to pull from lower revs and the spark plug still looks fine after a 90mile ride-out with my dealer yesterday. I’ve kept the original silencer on as I don’t care for the look of the Hitchcock that much. So my only question is, what benefit would there be for me to fit a Fuel-X, did you notice any improvements after the new exhaust?
@tigerness5555
@tigerness5555 Год назад
Great to hear that you enjoyed my wee video. Hard to tell if it’s worth fitting the FuelX, there’s no perceivable increase in power. I fitted my to hopefully ensure that the fuelling was always correct. So far no problems with it and my plug colour is perfect.

@@tigerness5555 yes, watching the TEC video, they say no increase in power should be expected and that it makes the bike run smoother. Hey brother, if you could clear my doubts:- I'm thinking of removing the CatCon & using the stock silencer/exhaust (Will get the RE reborn delivered this month). 1)What all changes(Sound, performance & fuel efficiency)can I expect after decating? 2) Will I need to tune the engine after decating? 3) Does decating harm the engine in anyway as there's widespread misinformation in India that decating harms the engine as the engine was designed to work with the CatCon & as it changes the back pressure? 4) Will I need to tune the engine if I decat & also change the stock exhaust to aftermarket free flow one? Regards.

The exhaust on the 500 Classic and B5 Bullet weighs about 40 pounds (I know, I carried mine to the trash can after removing it) has a cat con in it, is VERY restrictive, and sounds like a lawnmower. I removed the tank to make removal of the oxygen sensor in the exhaust pipe easier to remove without damaging it. Yes you’re correct, the tank didn’t need to be removed, but it’s an easy job and not a big issue in my opinion. Apart from that I hope you enjoyed the video 🏍️👍

Is Free flow cat safe for engine
@tigerness5555
@tigerness5555 10 месяцев назад
Removing the cat and fitting a decat pipe will not harm the engine. It may not comply with emission regulations in some countries though. Hope you enjoyed the video and found it useful 👍

is the free flow the same as the de-cat?
@tigerness5555
@tigerness5555 Год назад
Essentially yes as the cat is removed. The free flow is a complete system where as a de-cat pipe is only a short section replacing the cat. 🏍👍

The pipe appears to hang much lower. Do you see this as a problem?
@tigerness5555
@tigerness5555 Год назад
It sits almost the same as the standard system, not been a problem to me.

You're great at giving instructions but the camera work needs to follow your hands more than staying on your handsome face so we can actually see what you're doing and talking about.

Great to hear that you enjoyed watching my wee video 🏍👍 I’m working on my video production, hopefully getting better all the time. I’m a one man show and use a gimbal sometimes to follow what I’m doing, unfortunately it tracks faces and not hands. Thanks for the feedback.

Only one problem with this exhaust it says not for road use so your insurance is now invalid using a non homologated for road use exhaust.

It’s a risk many bikers take when making modifications. Insurance companies will always try to find ways not to pay out. Other than that I hope you enjoyed my wee video 👍🏍

Hi, great to hear that you enjoyed my wee video 🏍👍 I’ve started using another method of recording sound in my garage, it should be much better in coming videos 👍

This would be a fantastic video if the camera person would actually show what you are doing and not focusing on you.

They’re isn’t actually any camera person, on this video my phone was mounted on a gimbal which was tracking my face. Unfortunately it can’t track my hands. The only person in the garage is me 🤣 I don’t use this method anymore. Hope you enjoyed the video apart from that 🏍️👍

You need to put the oxygen sender in first that way you don't have to preload the connection food for thought Lemay

Crazy thought, perhaps filming your hands, tools, and the bike rather than you during the job, would make for a better video.
