Nicely done, I can easily follow what your hands are doing now, hopefully you can do a long term conclusion on this as a lot of content creators don't really follow up on things after a span of time which is basically one of the questions on the mind of users "how will it perform later?".
Really useful - thank you! I’m running about 3 months behind you so handlebar levers and heel and tie shifter fitted on mine - exhaust next!! Please keep going - can’t wait for the Hitchcocks turbo installation!! 😉
I have got my FuelX Lite here in India directly from manufacturer. Wasn't having proper tools so i got to a local service shop and used their tools to fit it myself. Took me about an hour to install. I have the standard factory fitted exhaust and air filter. After installation took a small trip of about 20KMs but wasn't able to notice any change (except lower exhaust note). Maybe the engine will not heat that much when i take it for a longer trip. Word of caution, don't expect any significant and noticable change after installung FuelX. However, it was good to tinker a bit with tools and a diy experience helps connecting more with bike Your video helped a lot in process. Thanx.
It really was helpful. I’m living in Delhi for a couple of years so my new Classic 350 was only £2k. Amazing value. The FuelX lite was £60 but not sure how much these are in the UK
Next step, DNA filter!🤗 I hope you did some heat wrapping around the connectors above the cylinder head cover. Wire will brittle over time in the heat. Thanks again for your wonderful and informative videos. Very beautiful garage too!
Thank you so much for making a sharing this video. I have been waiting for someone to do it, before I took the plunge. Also, many thanks for showing us an ideal placement for the Fuelx. Cheers.
Nice video. You used the same space spot to mount the Fuelx as I did. Perfect and clean solution. (I went with the de cat pipe instead of the full exhaust. Together with the DNA air filter. ) Now looking to assemble the 16t sprocket. I m always deel to look foor the missing 6th gear. 😊
Very nicely done this is a bike in my sights since the meteor came out and I still can’t decide. It’s about comfort and they both fit the bill but the classic is so much more my style
Great to heat that you enjoyed my video 🏍👍 If I was you I would go to an Enfield dealer and test ride both models to see which one you like best. Then again the new Hunter is coming out which also looks great 🤔🏍
Thanks for the video. I got the DNA filter stage 2 fitted and the Hitchcocks decat pipe on. Next job is fitting this gizmo, which I will break down into 2 jobs. 1 fit unit in that empty space you found and 2 do the long wire bit. 1 day 1 job.
Really neat fitting, well done and thank you. I am hoping to get a classic 350 soon and will be carrying out some modifications - not for higher speeds as that's not what these bikes are about but a nicer sound and smoother running is always good. Thanks again
Got mine today from Hitchcocks but it had an additional black wire from the FuelX control box and an eyelet on the end, contacted Hitchcocks who were unaware of this extra wire. Sent them a photo, they looked in to it and found this is a very recent modification which needs connecting to the negative (-) battery terminal. As usual Hitchcocks were most helpful in resolving this issue with their first class after sales service. 😊
Another well executed video TN, thanks. Neat fitting as always although my first thought would have been heavy duty velcro but I love your engineering solution, ‘safe & effective”😉 I must say I was a little surprised to see you are still running the stock air filter though as I’ve read that that’s usually suggested before the exhaust but what do I know? Anyway, yesterday I took delivery of the DNA stage 1&2, Cat replacement pipe (I prefer the look of the stock exhaust) and the replacement levers all of which I’ll install after tomorrows 1st service. Also I thought it interesting you comment about the gearing, you’re not the first. Please do follow up your findings on these mods and how you think the bike runs and performs compared to stock; I’m a tad concerned it may run lean but I guess a spark plug inspection will tell all. Lastly, Hitchcocks claim less or no jerkiness in throttle response, can’t say mine has any, did yours?
Hi Simon, great to hear that you enjoyed my video 🏍👍 I’ve used K&N filters in the past and found cleaning and oiling them a bit of a pain. I’m considering just fitting the DNA cover as that would be less restrictive for air flow into the engine. That said my bike is running well as it is. The reason I fitted the FuelX was to ensure the fuel air mixture was correct. I’ve had the spark plug out a few times since fitting and it’s colour is perfect so I’m confident that it’s doing it’s job.
@@tigerness5555 It’s good to hear that all is well for you. Reading the instruction for the DNA it appears to be a doddle to clean. I reckon it’s because it’s not a foam filter. I’ll consider the Fuel-X later on as it’s always better to try one mod at a time for both effectiveness and in case there are issues.
Waiting for them to come back in stock. I have a Red Rooster and a DNA filter on my Meteor. It runs good, but it wants to ping a little at higher rpms, especially from fully closed throttle to half open. Go full to half it stops. Running 90 octane non-ethanol. It never liked anything less than premium 93 octane. Always wanted to ping. I suspect when they cranked the ethanol content up to 15% they compensated (cheapened) the anti-knock additives to reduce the octane back down to the posted pump octanes.
Again like with your seat spring fitting a first class job! Well done again 👏 Been sitting on the fence to buy one and waiting on others to post doing so!, looks a perfect fit in there, be interesting if your fuel economy goes up?, as mentioned in other comments the DNA filter and stage 2 cover I can deft recommend, like a different bike with them fitted 👍😁 Cheers Bruce
Hi Coastrider, great to hear that you enjoyed my video 🏍👍 I’ve been looking at the DNA and was thinking about just fitting the cover. Having used K&N filters in the past I find cleaning and oiling them a bit of a pain. The bike is quite noisy now and would be more so with more induction noise. On the fence at the moment.
Great video, very clear, thanks. I notice Hitchcock's supply two versions, the FuelEx lite and the FuelEx pro, do you know what the difference is between them?? By the way, I have the 350 classic, identical to yours, still running it in! I will be following your channel with great interest. Subscribed! Thanks again. Pete in the Midlands ( UK)
Another excellent installation video - thank you! Agree with comment below, it would be good to have a video on the performance benefits of the upgrades. Are they worth it, which one delivered the most performance, is there a noticeable increase in performance and where is the increase etc? I've just run my Classic 350 in so now looking at performance add-ons. Thanks again!
Hi Marc, great to hear that you enjoyed my video 🏍👍 My bike is slightly faster and noisier. It’s never going to be a performance machine but it is fun.
A very neat installation. Wondered if you already had this installed when we on our run the other day and if you had a chance to see if it had any effect on fuel consumption.
Wonderful professional presentation Tiger, I don’t own a a 350 Classic but I do enjoy watching your videos on ‘How To’! As others have mentioned it would be great to get your thoughts on the performance of the fuelX some time in the future! Thanks for sharing.
Brilliant clear instruction video (wee bit low sound level ,-) Subscribed. Love this colour schemed model (although I wouldn't swap my halcyon grey for any other), and jealous of the transfers? on the black side covers. Could you let others know where they came from or is this an extra courtesy of the dealer? Many thanks!
Great to hear that you enjoyed my video. This is one of my early ones, the sound has greatly improved on later videos. The transfers were purchased from Hitchcocks. accessories.hitchcocksmotorcycles.com/21122?cont_page=transfers-stickers
Hi. Just wanted to thank you for this video. I’ve just fitted a FuelX lite and thanks to your video it went really well. I also used the same compartment as you for the module but secured it with some ShadowFoam I cut to size. Mine had a slightly different harness to your own I think - mine needed connected to the battery negative terminal. Was this not necessary with your one? Anyway thanks again and happy riding.
Hi, great to hear that you enjoyed my video and found it useful 👍 I believe that the latest FuelX has an additional wire to the the one I fitted. Mine must have been an earlier version, I don’t know the reason for the change.
@@tigerness5555 ah ok. I did the DNA filter and the FuelX at the same time. Took her out yesterday around Dumfries and Langholm way and she ran beautifully. Just feels like she’s breathing better overall and with a nicer intake sound. Thanks again for the wonderful videos and look forward to the next. Best, John
I just bought the same Classic 350 mc and I'm loving it here in So. California. I installed a DNA stage 2 air filter and it has more torque. Now I'm thinking about installing a cat delete pipe and the FuelX module. Do these mods effect the 3 year manufacturers warranty? Love your videos!
Great to hear that you enjoyed the video 👍 It’s a great wee bike, I’m not surprised that you’re loving it. Some great mods you’re doing to your bike. Potentially these mods could cause warranty issues hear in the UK, I don’t know how the system works in the USA. Worst case scenario if you have a problem, it’s easy to revert the bike back to standard and then go for any warranty claim.
@@tigerness5555 Good advice on the warranty deal. Just keep all the original parts and reinstall if needed. On another note- The OBD with euro 5 pin plug, I looked up the UK seller and it shows he doesn't ship to the USA? Is there another alternative seller for the OBD2 with euro 5 adapter?
Inspired by the video I ordered the FuelX from Hitchcock's. There's an additional wire with a metal loop on the harness. I did not see a reference to this component here. I assume it's an earth wire?
Great to hear that you enjoyed my video and found it useful 👍 The FuelX Light that I fitted was an earlier model without the earth lead. You have the new one that does have the earth lead. I’ve no idea what difference that makes, presumably it’s an improvement.
Apparently these bikes have a rev limitation built into the control unit, primarily for the Indian market because of tax reasons, bizarrely the same unit is used on the European export models hence the dismal top speed. I'm led to believe that in I think it was Brazil, they have removed this restriction due to something to do with their fuel and this has improved the bikes top speed to approx 85mph. Wonder if similar could be done over here ?🙄
Interesting information, thanks for sharing. The Classic 350 is a fabulous little bike but I’m not sure how it would be at 85mph, I’d give it a try though 😂 Hope you enjoyed my video 👍
What are the dimensions of the new bolt you used to mount the fuelx inside the side case? I like your idea of using the stock holes. Thank you for the great video
Great installation as previously mentioned a follow up on your personal observations on how good it is (manufacturers will say anything). Can you do a further video on removing/installing the tank (only). Difference between Light & Pro version I understand are there is just 1 map on Light and 10 on Pro, which the rider has to select through an additional switch on the handlebars; personally I think Light is the way to go?Cheers, really well made video 👍
Hi Hqmpest, great to hear that you enjoyed my video 🏍👍 If you look back to my video of fitting the Hitchcocks Free Flow Exhaust it covers tank removal.
Fitting the DNA and FuelX should not cause a fault light to come on. Possible causes could be: 1 - A faulty FuelX or FuelX wiring harness. 2 - One of the FuelX connections isn’t fully connected. This would tell the ECU that there was a fault with the Lamba sensor in the exhaust pipe. You need to use an OBD reader to diagnose the fault code and also reset the ECU. Check out this video for more info. Hope this helps. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tVy_KKxxcXc.htmlsi=OqXGTkqGoJoNJULc
Great video! I would like your opinion! I live in Brazil so my purchase options are limited from other countries! Locally I am able to buy a similar Air Filter (similar to the DNA) and a "free passage" exhaust. Would only these changes make sense and would that be reliable? I mean without this FuelX from this video. At least for now those changes would be my best option! Tks a lot!
Great to hear that you enjoyed my video 👍 I no longer have the free flow exhaust on my bike, I found it to be too noisy on long trips for my liking. I also sold the FuelX along with the exhaust. Currently the only modifications to my bike are, performance camshaft, decat pipe and open air filter cover. All these items are fully covered in the two video links below. Hope this helps. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-heylXlwUcjs.htmlsi=DJEX23kiPTIEQgHL ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kaUzgE9iFQk.htmlsi=F0wlOtO25DBpz29Y
@@tigerness5555Thank you for your return! Why did you sell the FuelX, did not like the results? I have seem some videos saying that the results are pretty good, mainly dropping the engine temperature during operation as it is very lean originally and with the DNA air filter even more! Tks
@@tigerness5555After watching several of you videos I do trust your judgement so I would like your opinion if possible, please! Making the change for a DNA filter and taking the cat out just leaving the original muffler (without the cat) if the FuelX is needed? As you sold yours I assume you think it is not, but watching other videos they show that the richer gas mixture that the FuelX gives makes the bike work in lower temperature what is a good thing. Looking forward for your return! Tks a lot!
If you fit through performance camshaft it does become what you wish for 😂👍 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-heylXlwUcjs.htmlsi=j-tU4hRPt51PCETA
Hi Jose Great to hear that you enjoyed the video and hopefully found it helpful. I’m very well thanks. The performance modifications I’ve done to my Classic 350 are: FuelX Light Performance Camshaft Exhaust Decat Pipe Open Air Filter Cover with standard air filter. My bike performs very well indeed. 👍
I have a habit of stripping new bikes down to their underthings just so I can educate myself where everything is and what it does it’s an old practice I began in 1985 with my first bike a Kawasaki 600r Ninja. Lots of plastic but a day well spent.
I'm not convinced by the powertronic xlite. I've got the DNA filter and free flow. Removed the xlite box the other day and it still seems to run exactly the same without it, can't tell any difference. Maybe it helps fueling but 🤷♂️ can't be that much in it surely.
I’m not convinced by any of the increase in power modifications. Any improvement are so minimal that it’s very difficult to really notice. The only real change is the increase in exhaust and induction noise. I’ve now removed all those parts from my bike and im happier with the quiet performance of the bike. Check out my new video which comes out tomorrow morning, it covers this subject. Hope you enjoy my videos 👍😁
Can I ask Have you had any problems with your Engine Management light staying on when the bike engine is running after fitting the Fuel X Lite System? I've just fitted a Fuel X Lite System to my Interceptor 650 And it is running better than ever, But when the engine is running, The engine management light is staying on, I'm going to have to take it to my nearest Royal Enfield dealership, Because nobody seems to have come across this problem? Cheers Paul
Hi Paul No I’ve not had any problems with my FuelX. Do you have an ODB2 reader and tried resetting the fault code. Or disconnecting the FuelX to see if this clears the problem?
No, mine was an earlier version, the newer ones cone with the earth lead. Don’t know if there are any other differences. Hope you found my video useful 🏍️👍
The new 2023 fuelx lite have male female 4 pin connects...with the lambda connection..any idea whether to connect or put it open catalog says its for mapswitch

Hello, je n'ai pas bien compris si vous utiliser le PowerTRONIC lite ou le PowerTRONIC pro. Au niveau connections, avons nous besoin d'une rallonge pour votre excellent connexion et placement ? Merci à vous ,"Best regard"
My FuelX was an earlier version to the latest one, it did not have the earth wire which the current version has. This is why it’s not mentioned in my video. Hope this helps.
Hi Im presuming the bike is set to run as lean as possible to pass emissions tests so can you tell me be fitting the fuelx will my bike pass the emissions test at the MOT? thanks and good video
Hi Kenneth, I can’t give an exact answer to your question but I recon it will still pass the MOT test. I don’t think that emission tests are done on bikes for the MOT test. Great to hear that you enjoyed the video 🏍️👍
Can the fuel x system be installed if you haven’t altered anything else on the bike because mine is brand new stock? Or do I have to alter other things first ?
If your bike is standard then there’s no need or benefit to fitting the FuelX. I’ve only fitted it to mine because of the non standard exhaust system I’ve fitted. Great to hear that you enjoyed my wee video 🏍👍
So what was YOUR experience of the bike with the PowerTronic fitted? What the starting easier, the low rpm acceleration smoother, and higher top speed seen?
Very difficult to notice any improvement in starting or performance. The main benefit to me, and the reason for fitting it, is the reassurance that the engine combustion is correct and no damage is being done. Great to hear that you enjoyed my wee video 🏍👍
Hello hope you are good. I asked a wee while back about the exhaust system and you said it was too loud for your requirements. Did you remove the fuelX lite as well.? Is the fuelX worth while doing is what I am asking?
i'm about to install the fuel-x lite unit. it's all pretty obvious but why do i have an extra black wire the same length as the main wiring with a metal "o" fastener on the end of it? should this be screwed down to something or is it a connecting wire for a fuel-x pro controller (which i haven't got)?
Hi Richard I think you have the newer model of FuelX Light than the one I fitted. I believe that the extra black wire is an earth connection either to the bike battery or the frame. Hope you found my video useful 🏍️👍
Hi Jimmy, great to hear that you enjoyed my video 👍 It’s so easy to get carried away modifying your bike. In this case I would say no, it’s not needed. I’m thinking about doing an update video on my Classic 350 at some point. This should answer this and possibly other questions you may have. All the best for 2023 🏍😁
No great difference, the engine runs cleanly and smoothly. I only fitted this to ensure that the fuelling was always correct due to fitting the free flow exhaust and not for any power gains. Hope you enjoyed the video 🏍️👍
Just the same as before fitting, check out the Hitchcocks item link for the claimed benefits 👍 accessories.hitchcocksmotorcycles.com/47038?cont_page=Royal-Enfield-350-Classic-Accessories
Any changes you make to your bike can potentially invalidate the warranty, this is a chance you take. The good thing about this modification is that it’s easily reversed if you have an issue, before taking your bike to the dealer for any warranty work.
It adjusts the air/fuel ratio a little richer so the engine runs cooler. This is more important if you also install a more open exhaust and air filter because that can cause a lean condition which wears out the motor.
@@nsdhanoa having just received my D-cat pipe and DNA your comments concerned me so I’ve just spoken to Hitchcocks and asked if that is the case; they said actually the opposite is true, it’s more likely to run a tad richer as the ECU will compensate for the extra air within the operational envelope. They said, sure, fit Fuel X for added performance but it’s not there to correct an issue. They concluded by saying the obvious, take it out for a decent run and check the plug colour.
@@nsdhanoa nice one. I’m holding off with the Fuel-X for now and see how it goes. TN did suggest, as have others, that his bike now feels a little under geared. I assume because it’s so free revving. Changing gear ratios is something that Bennett’s insurance mark as a performance change enough to hike the premium unlike air filters and exhausts. Enjoy your bike.
This is one of my earlier videos, they’re much better these days using radio microphones. Please bear in mind that this is not a professional RU-vid channel, simply a hobby for me. Apart from the low volume, I hope that you enjoyed the video 👍
Hi Mark, sorry that you couldn’t hear me very well. Since making that video, I’ve purchased new radio microphones and the sound quality in my garage videos has greatly improved. Still hope you enjoyed my video and found it useful 👍
@@tigerness5555 very beatiful video thank you very much indeed my fuelx has a wire harness with an eyelet cable that connects to the negative of the battery in addition to the main connector. it is indicated in the instructions to connect it directly to the negative terminal of the battery. evidently mine is a different version from yours.
@@tigerness5555 I wrote to the assistance and they confirmed that my version is a newer version and in fact it has the ground wire they also explained to me the function of the LEDs that flash on the module the two red LEDs indicate the loaded map and you can understand it from the number of flashes while when the green LEDs flash they indicate that the module is communicating with the ECU. in the number of flashes in my form I realized I have map number seven
Don’t know what restrictor plate you mean? I fitted the FuelX to ensure that the engine fuelling was always correct and not running too rich or too lean, not for more power. Hope you enjoyed my video 👍
I hope you enjoyed my wee video even though this modification isn’t for you 🏍👍 It’s only by trying different things that you know what works and what doesn’t. I’m on the fence with this item myself.
Sorry to hear that. It’s one of my earlier videos, I now use a radio microphone in the garage which gives much better results. Apart from the sound I hope you enjoyed the video 🏍️👍
Thank you for your constructive feedback, much appreciated. You will be pleased to know that I have recently invested in new radio microphones for use in the garage etc. Videos now being made have much better sound 😁
