no probs know about it for year on the classic 500 so thought id check while doing a bit of mudguard work...lol might put out a clip later today on different tank on this bike
Yeah Warro thats a good tip, I removed both front & rear mudguards before winter set in last year. Reason was that I wanted to coat the underneath of both with liquid rubber for some protection from flying stones off the tyres. So in conclusion removing or pivoting the rear gives huge access benefits, removing & installing the rear axle is still a bloody pain though, due to the amount of things that need to be lined up on the reinstall, can't imagine doing that at the side of the road for a puncture.....👍
G'day mate, thanks for the tip. Not only am I needing to get the rear wheel off in a few weeks, but I'm also looking to replace the tires with some knobbies. Can you tell me what the ones that you have on the front and rear? Thank you very much.
so if you replace the bolts with explosive bolts and fit a heavy duty spring, you have an ejection seat for any troublesome pillion passengers.... a regular James Bond bike....
Cannot get over the tread pattern on the rear tire. You could of ridden alongside Itchy boots in the mud of Monrovia. LOL I wished I had that kind of riding in Vegas Warrior. It's pretty much all black top here for me.
yeah its a good size tread pattern...lol i had it on some dirt road running yesterday - two up - and in some sandy type terrain too. never slipped once and great grip
yeah its no big deal pulling the tank so i might just do a clip and show both tanks and see what happens there. in fact i dont mind the look of the red chrome with just the black front/rear guards either. first thoughts it may look upta...lol but not the case! i think it sort of looks even more old school compared to the bling chrome guards
Awesome content Warro, since you have very good knowledge on classic bikes and also you have done review on GB350. I am bit confused with these 2 bikes RE CLASSIC 350 vs GB 350. Slipper clutch , Hondas reliability with engine is making me to pick up GB350 meanwhile RE classic 350 is also attractive. Could you please guide me?
well seeing i own both heres the answer. the classic 350 reborn is indeed a great looking bike and a nice relaxed bike to ride. gets heaps of attention and is a good around town and out on the road bike. it likes to run along in the 80 to 100 kph range the honda gb350 although not as hot in the eye appeal dept is still a very good bike around town and open road riding. fit the 13t front sprocket and its better still. nice and smooth to ride with very little vibe. great for a new rider too as the slipper clutch comes in handy on the downshifts and can avoid rear wheel lockup. both have abs and the honda has traction control too. in the end its more personal choice as both bikes are great
Another fantastic tip there Warro! Rains are coming now for winter time, hey! 🇦🇺 Just a side note: my engine check light came on the other day… going down a suburban road… just got a hesitant throttle for literally a couple of seconds, then I noticed the engine check light came on. I rode on cause I wasn’t far from home. Blew out a cobweb & a bit of dust from where the battery is located. Checked the relays knowing I’d cleaned the excess grease from the terminals ages ago. Was going to pull the battery terminals off but got slack cause it was crowded. Then pulled the main fuse. Gave everything a good blower & presto, engine check light gone. I’ll be taking it for a run tomorrow to make sure. Any idea what could have caused this to happen? Never happened before. Cheers 🤙
i think sometimes these things happen and it may have been a fueling issue which sorted itself out or you'd still have the fault code and a badly running bike. what i would be doing is next time you buy from hitchcocks buy the better quality fuse blocks and put them in too. the lot! dont buy from dealer either as the sell new old stock and i replaced mine in the halcyon grey one day when i had hard start issues. hitchcocks version are more solid and slightly heavier and trouble free too i had a similar issue to you on last 650 interceptor and i had to buy a full set of fuse blocks for it. either way id be going for new fuses regardless for just peace of mind. as a rule they usually play up from 3000 klm onwards and get worse till they stop you in fact i had issues on the last a new 650 int - a trials 500 and l500 bullet just a bad batch of fuses in all those models.
@@stevesanelli90 i wouldnt buy fuses from any bike shop or you might as well just keep what you have. these bikes run the same fuses so if a dealer got in 100 he may have the old stock and you will too...lol so its get the better ones and trouble free or pass. by the way hitcocks have cheaper freight and its just a matter of how quick you require the goods so they cater for all budgets
@@stevesanelli90 the relays yes i would not buy them from the locals if they were for free...lol if enfield had replaced all those thousands of bad fuse blocks lots of riders would not have had issues in the int 650/gt 650/himalayan/classic 500 meteor 350/ classic 350 reborn etc etc they knew about it but just kept using them. just like they are too lazy to put the classic 350 reborn export gearshift up one notch. now really how hard is that to do...lol
