Once this bike gets tubeless tyres, the cost will go past 3 lac ex showroom, at that price point is scrambler 400x a better option for someone who goes for a max of 1 long intense trip a year and many small ones which are not off-road?
Had a similar question actually. I am tall so scrambler 400x and Himalayan 450 were my prime interest in sub 3lac exshowroom. I saw a lot of ride reviews and felt that scrambler would be like 10/10 in city, 8/10 highway, 6.5/10 off-road. Himmy would be 8/10 in city, 10/10 highway, 10/10 off road. Tubeless conversion of the existing tires is possible afaik for under 10k and for my bigger stature, a bigger and longer bike would suit me. Plus I guess the rsa and service availability is also a thing. I wanted to go triumph, initially, but RE stole the show for me. I hope this helps in some way.
Myself an RE Hater, but i too test ride of this Him450, very eager to buy except for this tube tyres.. so wish to know if really tubeless wil come and in around what time.. now to wait 3-4 or max 6month is possible, but waiting eternally or for year is impossible. Other options and not so complete like scram400x- no center stand, console not so great, tank range 350 kms around max, ktm360adv, already mentioned in this video- I do not like ktm., x440 is not so much liking but parallel with cb350 honda as 2nd choice if not him450.! So if anybody see this msg and have some solid idea about the tubeless tyre option , then plz let know.
