This is a super easy fix for the gear shift indicator if it stops working on a Royal Enfield Himalayan. It worked for me, I hope it does for you as well. Ride safe!
Easier option than removing the battery terminal is just to pull the main fuse, wait and then put it back. This has the same effect (fixed it on mine) but is easier to put back rather than trying to get the captive nut onto the bolt again. This is especially true if you have accessories on battery terminals

thank you for shearing this info, i had the same problem when my battery died and after recharging it had no gear indicator ,flowed your directions and every thing was good again, thanks again for your video
Its definitely working with bs4 model.. Only condition is gear should show 0 while in neutral.. If it is not showing 0 in neutral than opening engine is only option..
Just got a new 2021 model. Same problem. Called dealer. They didn't have a clue, so googled online and found this solution, and it worked. Now I see your compass is doing the same thing as mine. Did you ever get it working?
Yes, mine does rattle at higher RPMs and when under load. I was able to correct a rattle between the headlight trim ring and the headlight housing with a few strips of electrical tape inside of the rim of the headlight bucket. I don't know if there is anything that can be done about the rattle from inside the engine. The bike runs and rides good so I'm not too worried about the engine noise. Ride safe.

The built quality of this bike is really really bad. Sometimes in a long ride it can creat a disaster and catastrophe . RE does not how to make quality bike inspite of manufacturing bike since 1901
