Great video and commentary. I have a 2021 Himi and do not have the miles on and off road you do on the bike. I love my bike and with my past experience ( except for racing, mx, hare scrambles,trials- almost all dual sport. ) I think most critics need more off road training, then think about highway which it is not built for ( ish ). Also something to consider is that with its price it is a bike that alot of people get so that they can tinker with and modify which for them is half the fun. Cheers!,

Great perspective Bruce. I completely agree. Some of the negativity I am seeing is new riders that jump into off-road with little to no training. This is obviously creating issues. This is something I did myself completely understood. The issues were myself, not the bike. Also in my own opinion entirely too many motorcycle riders, even dual sport and adventure riders want to go fast on pavement and get well above the speed limits. This just isn't the bike for that. Himalayan owners like you and I will preach how capable this bike is forever and it is so true. Thanks for sharing!

My 2020 model has 14,000 klm done now and it's been flawless. I have six other bikes, 500cc, 600cc,750cc and 900cc. Gues which one gets ridden the most? The Himalayan by a mile. It's just so much fun.

Hey Mark thanks for commenting. Your comment put a smile on my face. I agree completely. The Himalayan is an absolute joy to ride. I am having a blast, myself. Glad to hear it has been flawless.

I am torn with the lack of power vs the very easy, non intimidating and comfortable ride this bike gives you…Great bike overall!😊

I completely understand that. I had to weigh those options as well. I It is definitely not the type of bike you scream down the highway on. I was fully loaded last week going out to the Smoky Mountains for the Smoky Mountain 500 and tapped out at 75 miles an hour on the interstate going up a hill. I know that is just not how some people want to ride. Just got to consider the options and see what is best for you. I will say that After 8000 mi in about 5,000 of it off road all over the country, I absolutely love it. But I am definitely not a speed demon and I have set my expectations at that. Thanks for watching my friend.

Hi mate, I to have a himmi 2023 model and everything you just said is right on the money ive only done around 1200 klm on it ( iam in Australia were in klm not miles) and have not had any problems with the bike what's so ever, and the fellow who commented and said he was over 60 with a 5 mile dirt driveway and has never had a bike this bike would be perfect for him, anyway love your videos keep up the good work, ride safe.

Thanks Jason. I appreciate you watching and commenting. I truly believe if you are realistic with yourself when buying a Himalayan on what your needs are it is an unbelievably awesome bike! No one is saying that there aren't some negatives to it. It simply just comes down to top speeds on tarmac and highways. What we call Interstate systems in the United States. And if you're not looking to blow past the speed limits, I just don't find it any problem with the bike at all? Thank you friend, enjoy your adventures.

Let me tell you there No other brand beside Royal Enfield that gave birth to new youtubers 😂

Yes I agree with that 🤣. Well it is either the GSA BMW'S or Royal Enfield for sure. Such dramatically different bikes, but these two seem to be what every RU-vid is riding.

Thanks for the video! I have had a bunch of motorcycles but not a lot of miles. My next one will be the Himalayan. If you have some time could you tell me about your video set up.

I do love my Himalayan. I have a couple friends with multiple bikes in the garage and their Himalayans are their favorites. In reference to my video setup. I use a GoPro 12 on my helmet with a chin mount. I have a purple panda wired microphone for audio (Love this mic) On my handlebars (facing me) I have my old GoPro 7. When I am off the bike and need any zoomed video I use my cell phone ( Pixel 7 Pro) This combination works great for me. I would like to add a small mirrorless camera for my camp and zoomed videos. But that will have to wait for now. Thanks for watching and commenting. It helps the channel grow.

Great review! I have the 2022 Himalayan also, and I am still learning to ride off-road. I did upgrade the seat to a Seat Concepts tall boy. I am still trying to get the seat broken in as it is stiff. I am also doing a video on the Himalayan and ADV riding. Thanks for this video. Ride Safe

Thanks for watching. I have been considering the seat concepts myself. I have heard great things. The Himalayan is such a great bike to learn on. Sounds like you and I are both building our off-road talents. I will have to check out your video when it is out.

I think the love hate thing the internet has created is the demands and requirements different people in the US have. It’s a big country. I love my Himalayan but this morning I was bombing along on my GS coming down out of Tioga pass at 80 mph people were passing me. I was already going faster than a Himmy can go. If new riders buy these machines and expect them to work in that situation they are in for a big surprise. Another thing is the reliability and build quality issues. Way to many people are in denial about issues since it hasn’t happen to them. There is your love hate division right there. LOL

Absolutely a good point Mike and I completely agree. If anyone is looking to go fast on the highway / Interstate this is just not the bike for them. I was giving it everything it had at 77MPH on the interstate. There was nothing left. My riding buddy on most of my adventures is on a GS 850A so I see that first hand on a lot of trips. We just did 300 miles of the TAT together. The video will be out soon. Royal Enfield since the upgraded Himalayan came out either 21 or 22 (I forgot the year) I believe has done a much better job of build quality. But that being said some of the gear take the brakes for example could be better. That GSA brakes are in another class for sure. I think you said it perfectly. I think some new riders might have unrealistic expectations. What model GS do you have?
@MikesProjectsandHobbiesMC
@MikesProjectsandHobbiesMC Год назад
@@MotoOffroadAdventures I have a 2022 and the build quality is much better. Seems like the only black eye for the 2022 is a lot of the ECUs needed reflashed to help with stalling but that absolutely fixes the bike. Some also had “covid build” fuel pumps that fail but that affected several brands, not just Royal Enfield. I have a R1250GS to ride if the Himmy is too slow for the daily task. :-)
@MotoOffroadAdventures
@MotoOffroadAdventures Год назад
Yep I agree completely with that. They have used their game. I bet that 1250GS is beautiful for sure. I really like my friends 850GSA. Enjoy your adventures.

Thanks for the review. Considering getting one. Im 60+, never owned a motorcycle. The last 5 miles up to my house is dirt, thinking this would be a good bike to get started with.

We are a lot alike. I am 46 and this is my first motorcycle ever. Riding my Himalayan for the first time was my first time ever on a motorcycle. It has performed so well I am absolutely impressed. Like many I had some reservations before buying it. It did not take long for me to fall in love with it. There is a reason Royal Enfield has been around since 1902. Thanks for watching, I appreciate your time.

Hello from Florida ☀️ 🐬 🌊👣🏖🏄‍♂️🌞🩴 Have been looking for an inexpensive adventure bike for the back of an Expedition camping 4x4 truck , to do supply and exploring runs. So considering the Himalayan. Though on a pure aesthetic level vrs actual use, Janus motorcycle's Gryffin 250 would be my 1st choice. Then budget friendliness goes out the window. 😊

Hello there, thanks for stopping in. We are looking for the same. My wife and I travel in our camper van also. The Himalayan will be the perfect bike. I will say the Janus would be great too with no doubt. However like you said different budgets. Happy travels my friend. If you wanted to see our Van travels channel check out ru-vid.com

Another very happy Himi owner. 👍 I have also been considering a sheepskin cover. If you do it let me know your thoughts. I know when the 450 makes it to the U.S. it will be tempting for sure.

Hi, what mechanism do you use to mount the GoPro to your helmet? Also, what version of GoPro are you using?
@MotoOffroadAdventures
@MotoOffroadAdventures 2 месяца назад
Thanks for watching. Great question. I use the "Chin Mount". They make helmet specific mounts. It works great. I use a GoPro 11. They have gotten so advanced lately. The 11 does everything I need and more. Have a great weekend - Jon
