The Royal Enfield 650 Twins are the toast of the town. There are two motorcycles, the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650. The Interceptor 650 features the styling ethos of a roadster in the classic mould, while the Continental GT is, naturally, a cafe racer. Both the motorcycles use Royal Enfield's brand-new 648cc parallel twin cylinder engine. Which proves to be smooth, harmonious and impressive. It also has sounds brilliant thanks to the 270 degree firing order, even on the stock exhaust pipes. The new tubular double crade frame, basic but competent suspension, excellent brakes and standard dual-channel ABS completes a rather thorough if basic package. These are genuinely interesting, well-made, well-finished motorcycles that promise a lot of rides, a lot of memories and for Royal Enfield, a new chapter in the Indian market. The kicker is the price with the basic Interceptor - the one we would buy, starting at just Rs 2.50 lakh! That is a stunning package!

Where were you so far bro? I saw your review first time on these twins from California. Was impressed. And this time I have fallen for it. You have covered almost every important bit on both the twins in under 6 mins which others normally take about 15 mins. Simple, crisp and comprehensive enough. The real rd350 is Duke 390. The character is very similar to Duke 390 and not a sedate low reving RE 650. Even though the performance of RE is good.

I have been fascinated with brand RoyalEnfield since childhood days. Interceptor650 & ContinentalGT650 are powerful beasts 👌 Split seats for Interceptor 650 would have added more style. Front seat could have been bit wider.

Really nice bikes. I reckon if I was to improve their appearance for their next models, I'd try add some modern flair to it. Having said that, I do like these current models very much. Probably on appearance I'd rate the GT ahead especially with that white tank, but I'd probably chose the Interceptor for comfort...

Nice review!.. I wonder why the Conti is being marketed as a cafe style motorcycle but wasn't shown with the solo cafe seat at the launch, or in most reviews either. Is that because the standard seat for the Conti GT will be the two-up seat?

Hi Shumi, how is it for D390 riders like you and me, since the pricing and performance are somewhat similar including topspeed? While I understand both of it is are for different genres, can it attract the performance loving crowd, who already have a KTM or a Honda, apart from offering swell deserved upgrade for pure breed RE fans?

VERY GOOD REVIEW, I'M NOT BUYING, I'M DISAPPOINTED WITH THE PRODUCT BECAUSE 1) IT'S NOT WITH TUBELESS TYRES, TYRES ARE ALSO NOT VERY COMPATIBLE AND AS REQUIRED WIDTH FOR A HIGH POWERED/SPEED BIKE. 2) NO LED PROJECTOR HEADLIGHTS, DRL OMISSION, TAIL LIGHTS/INDICATORS ARE NOT LED. BAD LIGHTS ASSEMBLY QUALITY. 3) GEAR LEVER IS NOT PUSH TYPE ONLY. 4) POOR INSTRUMENT CLUSTER 5) GEAR INDICATOR OMISSION. 6) NOT SO LONGER HANDLE BARS FOR A EASY SITTING POSTURE. 7) SMALL FUEL TANK IS SINCE PRESENT 13 LTR SIZE HAS TO BE TOPPED UP ON APPROX EVERY 200 KMS. 8) POORLY POSITIONED FOOTPEGS THANKS

1. The tyres are tubed because the bike has spoked wheels; 2. Std. headlight is cheaper, but easily replaceable if you feel it's a must have; 3. Gear lever is a std. type - not sure what else you are looking for ? 4. Perfectly fine instrumentation, it's meant to be a back to basics, fun motorbike, which it is; 5. Seriously, if you don't know what gear you're in, buy a car; 6. Seating position was perfect for me; 7. Fuel tank is fine, giving 350 kms on a tank. After 350 kms I'm ready for a coffee; 8. The front footpegs need revisiting, I agree.

Would have been better if the engine was not air cooled with an oil cooler, proper liquid cooling might be good for our weather conditions.

@@69squad24 hell yeah, just get a leather jacket and an aviator and you are good to go. But most important thing about this bike is if you are not going to keep it for atleast 30 years you can buy better suited one for the same money.

@tirumala....you need to study about marketing.Their pricing is not at all competitive.When person can get 500cc bike under 2.50 lakhs,why will someone go for 300 cc which will be around 1.60 to 1.70 lakhs Its not about who is dumb.You need to know the facts.just see their pricing strategy

Oil cooled but in my test drive on GT, NEVER felt a bit of heat, maybe cause it's a test drive unit and I haven't been able to ride bit more. Anyway this is really great bike almost nil vibrations even in higher rpms. I wasn't a fan of RE but now.. considering to get one! Take a test drive and you would be really surprised.

Hello Sir. Please review Jawa. Also please make a video on why the new riders looking for cruisers should stick to Royal Enfield as the feel,the thump has no alternative. Youngsters are being blinded by the specs of Jawa.It does have retro charisma but it sounds too crude.

My point is there are many newbies who wanted to buy RE but because of Jawa launch they are considering to change their decision.It s totally upto them .I am not forcing anyone.I want Sir to tell those newbies is it worth to go for Jawa instead of RE which I feel is not?RE fans doesn't care about refinement,max speed,efi etc:we are happy cruising at 75 kph.I dont want people to regret after buying Jawa.

@@mohammedshoeb4636 The only point you have for an unrefined low tech low power machine is that it has the feel... Well the Jawa is much better in terms of performance and looks (personal opinion) as well. As far as feel is concerned well you haven't ridden the Jawa...and from what I've heard they have worked really hard to maintain the old Jawa sound and feel....and if that's true (will know after a test ride) then I don't see any point of buying an RE350. If I want to buy an RE it'll be the Interceptor and if it's a 350-300 I'm looking for then Jawa all the way.

@Tirumala Gentleman I think you don't know about business strategies.They are coming back after a span of 20 years.The times have changed.Now companies are in fierce competition.I guess you are still living in the 70s era.This won't be the same quality like it was before.Old is gold.Nowdays companies focus on money and how to attract customers.They don't care about quality.And Royal Enfield has maintained their standard because they are well established.And royal Enfield is used since world war 1.Dont imagine jawa will go ahead in terms of sales when compared to RE If it was the old jawa...then yes I would have definately said that there will be tough competition.After sales service matter a lot.They have to establish themselves
