Royal Enfield Maintenance tips | 6 Tips On How I Maintain My Bullet | 500 Subscribers 

I'm using Motul 15W50 and NGK Iridium Spark plug for 5 years for my 10 year old Enfield Bullet G2. Both alternatives giving me more fuel efficiency , less vibrations and I get 50Kmpl in highway cruising . The sludge depositing in the engine is also reduced a lot. I suggest an oil change in every 6000km in normal conditions and 5000km span in tough conditions like heavy traffic or hilly areas. Iridium Spark Plugs may withstand more than 50K kms but I'm replacing it in every 25K. Motul Synthatic oil costs Rs800 per litre and NGK Iriduum 600 per piece. If the engine makes a lot of smoke due to wear and tear the spark plug needs intermittent cleaning. These two alternatives are best after an "engine overhaul".( For malayalam readers- ഞാന്‍ എന്‍റെ 10 വര്‍ഷം പഴക്കം ഉള്ള 'പഴയ മോഡല്‍' ബുള്ളറ്റ്നു 5 വര്‍ഷമായി മോട്ടുല്‍ 15W 40 സിന്‍തെറ്റിക്ക് ഓയിലും "ഇറിഡിയം" സ്പാര്‍ക്ക് പ്ലഗും ആണ് ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നത് . ഇത് രണ്ടും ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നത് കൊണ്ട് എന്‍ജിന്‍ വിറയല്‍ കുറയുകയും ഹൈവേ യാത്രയില്‍ ലിറ്റര്‍ നു 50 കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ മൈലേജ് കിട്ടുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നുണ്ട് . എന്‍ജിനുള്ളില്‍ അടിയുന്ന "sludge" കുറഞ്ഞിട്ടുണ്ട് . സാധാരണ 6000 കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ കൂടുമ്പോള്‍ ഓയില്‍ മാറിയാല്‍ മതിയാവുമെങ്കിലും , കൂടുതല്‍ നിര്‍ത്തി-എടുക്കുന്ന സാഹചര്യത്തിലും , ഹൈറേഞ്ച് കളിലും 5000 കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ കാലയളവ്‌ ആണ് അഭികാമ്യം. "ഇറിഡിയം" പ്ലഗ് 50000 കി.മി. നു മുകളില്‍ ഉപയോഗിക്കാം എങ്കിലും 25000 കൂടുമ്പോള്‍ ഞാന്‍ അത് മാറാറുണ്ട്. സിന്‍തെറ്റിക്ക് ഓയില്‍ ലിറ്റര്‍നു 800 രൂപയും സ്പാര്‍ക്ക് പ്ലഗ്നു 600 രൂപയും ആണ് വില. കൂടുതല്‍ പുക ഉള്ള എന്‍ജിന്‍ ആണെങ്കില്‍ ഇടക്ക് ഇടക്ക് സ്പാര്‍ക്ക് പ്ലുഗ് വൃത്തിആക്കേണ്ടി വരും. എന്‍ജിന്‍ പണി കഴിഞ്ഞ ശേഷം ഈ രണ്ടു മാറ്റങ്ങളും വരുത്തുന്നതാണ് കൂടുതല്‍ നല്ലത്.)

everyday use kick start in the morning and idle for 1 min it will help engine oil circulate all over which will reduce tappet noise also

Vibrations in the UCE engine... It is not due to the sole fact that bullet is made of metal. Take the CI engine and u'll find that a perfectly tuned CI engine puts out much less vibration. It is partly due to the air:fuel ratio. Newer bullets have a higher air:fuel ratio as pre-set in the carb by the company to extract the maximum mileage. Increased a:f ratio means greater amount of O2 entering which enters the engine, which produce a vigorous combustion with higher power output and excess heat , which is no problem in UCE as it is cooled with approx 2.8 litres oil per minute. In comparison to this, the old CI has only 0.8L of oil circulation per minute which makes it heat up, thus forcing the mechanics to reduce a:f ratio with less air and more fuel thus producing a more calmer engine with a distinctive thumping sound, and torque distributed in the lower RPM, which makes for a noticeable travel in the city at slow speeds of 20 kmph at 4th gear, with little vibration.

Clean the metal parts of the vehicle regularly. Just use a simple cloth to do it. If you let too much dirt accumulate then chances of early rusting is high. Use something like autosol to polish the metal and chrome parts once a month.

Very informative video. Regarding the tire pressure, we may need a lower pressure during bad roads/off road riding. Are you using the video improvement option by RU-vid? Arrange any system in bullet that can help for making loud or low sound in the bullet silencer. If we need loud sound in bullet than we press the button.

After wasting 1 oneway kit(and 4k bucks) and a lot of research, I got this: 1. Always kick in morning/winter mornings. Rest of the day, self can be used. (applicable to all bikes. saves battery, saves self) 2. Never throttle while self start. The 'pushback' from engine screws the bearing and if that bearing is not replaced, oneway kit is also damaged. So, never throttle while self. or throttle just a little bit. 3. Never half-self it. Push button firmly till engine starts. If followed self(and battery) goes on for years. Otherwise , wrong practices can screw them up in months. Add up: regarding vibrations, use 15W50 always, get a heavy handlebar(add sand/bearingballs/clay inside, weights/grips at barend), warm up engine before use. Vibration almost vanished for my c500.

I have a marsh grey too and it has done 6000 , yesterday the vehicle just randomly turned off when i was at 80kmph (i am quite aware that the service is due upon reaching 6000km) ,any idea on how this happened (is it the engine oil?) it felt like the thing that happens when there is no petrol, the acceleration just gradually stopped and the throttle reponse was very poor. Any ideas?

Great video. I have a doubt... During my first start I gave blank kick 10 times while holding down the clutch. Then I gave it a full kick. But after starting knocking sound kept coming so I increased idling speed. After that sound stopped and bike was firing normally. But this has been happening for the past 3 days. What do I do?
