Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Vs. Bullet 500 | Should you upgrade? 

I’ve had 2 UCE models. They are better shifting but not quite as peppy as the AVL. They are a tiny bit smoother and a little tiny bit more top speed. This AVL stops way better than any UCE I’ve had. This is also the nicest sharpest handling of my bullets/classics. That being said the UCE’s are nice to have fuel injection.

@@MCCJustMotos ummmmm everything! The taillight actually. I fell for the taillight and the rest followed. I love the chrome ring around the headlight and that,with the offset speedometer,both of those things remind me of an old Vincent (I don't have the Nav gauge). And the sound of the bike when I'm stopped in traffic,I love that!

@@MCCJustMotos Hi, well I've had my Meteor a week now and have complete just over 150 miles. I found the Meteor is more comfortable and easier to ride than the 500. However, the Classic 500 is definitely the more powerful machine with a lot more torque. If they did a modern 500 single with the same 27bhp as the old OHV model it would be cracking machine.

I have 2008 AVL Classic . It’s basically an AVL engine in an old school RE frame .

You have an intresting take, I’ve never heard anyone with that opinion. But, hey to each their own right? Why didn’t I test the efi model? Well, I don’t currently own an efi bullet 500. If you want to buy me one, I’ll defiantly test it. That being said I’ve owned 2 EFI aluminum barrel Bullet/classic 500’s. I can tell you the AVL (carb/aluminum barrel) handles and stops bettter and is a bit quicker .

@@MCCJustMotos The fact is new owners aren't keeping the Meteor and there are loads on offer with extremely low mileage because they're underpowered, slow, boring and lack the old wolde charm of the Bullet 500, and with cast wheels the Meteor looks awful so I don't know who they would appeal too. Definitely not the younger A2 licence holders whose 125 learner bikes are faster, and definitely not to older riders like myself. I realise they sold well given their asking price, but it appears the owners are disillusioned and part exchanging them with less than 2000 miles on the clock.. I've seen one with 480 miles on the clock on eBay so I would say they are awful things that lack the charm and the classic looks of the 500 bullet, but may be suitable for women and short males who are vertically challenged.

“This” bullet is a rarer transiton AVL Model. The last US UCE bullets were sold in 2020.
