I am tinkering the RE continental GT to see how it could be used for long rides. This particular modification resembles a royal enfield scrambler and I will try using it for touring and commuting. The objective of this RE GT modification was to make it comfortable for long rides and reduce tension on the elbows and palms. We will be changing the royal enfield continental gt stock clipon handlebars with upright handlebars.
This video is a continuation to my previous video on the Scrambler handlebar for the Royal Enfield continental GT. I will be using a royal enfield himalayan handlebar as you guys requested but this particular handlebar is the one you see on hero impulse. Later I attached bar end weights but this video does not cover that. This handlebar is a look alike to the handlebar of Royal Enfield Himalayan. The handlebar of Himalayan is a bit wider as compared to the one I am using. I am planning to try the windshield of Himalayan on continental GT but may be will post a video later on it.
We are riding in Kerala, there are some twisty roads and it makes the ride enjoying. Unlike the handlebar you see on the dukati scrambler, this is more aggressive and comfortable for continental GT. I still like the handlebar of Yamaha FZ in terms of the riding experience. It gave almost zero vibrations when compared to this impulse handlebar. The stock clipons of the royal enfield cafe racer were a pain in the A** and you all know that.
People have asked me to try handlebars from bajaj avenger on continental GT but I am not a fan of that kind of styling. May be we will try arriving at a finest level of tuning rooyal enfield contnental GT in some time.
Update: I finally got a handlebar which makes Gt perfect for riding.
